I used a continuity tester which has 3 ranges which are 20 ohm , 200 ohm and 2000 ohm , on the 2000 ohm I get a reading on the element of 25 @ , on the 200 ohm setting it reads 27.5 ohm and on the 20 ohm setting I unsuprisingly dont get a reading. The leads have a resistance of 0.80 ohm so...

Hi I am wanting to render the external wall at the back of my house ( red housebrick ) I have the bags of render. Can the render go directly onto the wall in 1 or 2 coats ? Do I need any bonding for the render to knit too ? Kind Regards Stephen

dont worry your not the first and wont be the last... as said above you should be able to resolve this with a multimeter as this task can be sussed out with the power off. If you have an interest in resolving this grab a multimeter and come back but if not then call an electrician in..

The reason being that the quote was about voluntary work whether that be 3 , 6 , 9 or 12 months it was to inform the OP that if he can afford to do some voluntary work then it may be of some use however I am glad you take such an interest and have time to analyse my quotes.

I would think it depends on what load you have on the RCBO at the moment i.e. how many outside lights are on the RCBO and what wattage ? Do you want the new outside lights to be switched with the existing or would the new lights be on a seperate switch (or are they switch by a PIR)
