I had to have my son's Intergas belatedly serviced - a call to Intergas, and the official service engineer (our Razor, again!) was there within a couple of days. And all available spares, if needed, were there in the van. By contrast, the local Intergas listed GasSafe man (an independent)...

You're right, of course, Tony - but the main point Razor was making was that the useless bunch of mods we have on here should exercise the same efficiency filtering out inappropriate advice and comments by some of the clowns who post on here. Your boiler manual should indicate where a room stat receiver should be connected and how existing connections need to be changed. The Salus booklet should also provide instructions in more generic terms. Fitting should be straightforward, getting the Salus to work, and continue working, might...

The electrode is a gas related issue so the GasSafe guys on here are not allowed to help you further. All I can say is, if you've already bought the electrode, and it doesn't fix your problem, you really do need to call in a Pro. Is the boiler up to date with its servicing?

As a starter you could hire a Kamco flusher from Jewsons on a daily basis just to see how things go. About £50 a day. Then commit to your own kit if enough work is forthcoming. Good luck - wish I had your energy levels!
