connecting to main sewer for ground floor toilet

Without wishing to sound too unhelpful, what is being hinted at here is that you should initially consult Building Control. They will let you know local regs. Then come back armed with that info, and we can then assist from a position of knowledge.

    Vertical radiators

Not too sure Tony was dissing the company. Substitute jolly for silly, and you will get my line of thinking. Of course, I could be totally wrong here....

    Intergas

Okay, pointless question time. Except I'm curious. Just been on the Intergas site to have a nosy at the new Rapid, and they seem to have moved. Swanky new premises by the look of it - any of you guys been there yet? If they haven't moved, then blame the Alzheimers......

    Repair or replace boiler quandry

Bernard, it came up when I clicked the "Find your installer" button. I see what you are saying - and it makes sense, but I imagined that a boiler service would be a profitable, pleasant and repeatable activity for an RGI. As it happened, it turned out well for me (thanks, Razor!!) but if...

    Repair or replace boiler quandry

I had to have my son's Intergas belatedly serviced - a call to Intergas, and the official service engineer (our Razor, again!) was there within a couple of days. And all available spares, if needed, were there in the van. By contrast, the local Intergas listed GasSafe man (an independent)...

    Repair or replace boiler quandry

I tried to make a sales enquiry from ATAG, so my installer could consider one of their boilers, but no one ever got back to me. Are they some sort of secret society with funny handshakes etc? How do they ever sell any boilers?

    Repair or replace boiler quandry

You're right, of course, Tony - but the main point Razor was making was that the useless bunch of mods we have on here should exercise the same efficiency filtering out inappropriate advice and comments by some of the clowns who post on here. Then again, some of my posts might then get rubbed......

Adding Salus RT500RF Thermostat to Vokera 500 Boiler

Your boiler manual should indicate where a room stat receiver should be connected and how existing connections need to be changed. The Salus booklet should also provide instructions in more generic terms. Fitting should be straightforward, getting the Salus to work, and continue working, might...

Changing diverter valve on Ariston Microgenus 28

The electrode is a gas related issue so the GasSafe guys on here are not allowed to help you further. All I can say is, if you've already bought the electrode, and it doesn't fix your problem, you really do need to call in a Pro. Is the boiler up to date with its servicing?

Have you heard of Sasil Bathroom Merchants in Kent?

Ikea did a tall pillar tap for kitchens - cost about £80 if I remember. Worth a look?

    Anyone Need a Plumbers Mate?

As a starter you could hire a Kamco flusher from Jewsons on a daily basis just to see how things go. About £50 a day. Then commit to your own kit if enough work is forthcoming. Good luck - wish I had your energy levels!

    isolation valve under taps

I thought building regs, or whatever, stipulated that all taps must now have a service valve. Or is that just good practice?

Changing DHW flow sensor on Glowworm Ultracom 2 24cxi

Really can't comprehend the mentality of the op. "I didn't resort to personal insults." I considered his response offensively personal. Would have been a lot easier, and much more pleasant, to have simply hit the "Thanks" button.........

    Bath drops when full

I would be tempted to remove and replace the chipboard floor at this stage, with something more appropriate. Then tackle the bath.

Changing DHW flow sensor on Glowworm Ultracom 2 24cxi

I'm puzzled. The op asks for any gotchas/warnings. Dan, politely, supplies one. Op turns into Mr Nasty. Commiserations, Dan.
