    Insulating garage conversion floor

Hmm, I thought the DPM had to come up to at least the door sill, which is at the same height as the existing DPC. Not sure I can hang it off the walls so might be the frame way

    Insulating garage conversion floor

Assuming the DPM goes down first, how do you fix all the battens in place without puncturing the DPM?

    Insulating garage conversion floor

Thanks, that makes sense. Do you have any suggestions about what I could do here: The blue is the wall (sticking out bit it breeze block support column) Green is the insulation board, and white being the plasterboard. I can't really afford to bring the plasterboard in anymore, and there is a...

    Insulating garage conversion floor

I'm redoing our garage conversion, however just wondering what the correct/best way of insulating the floor would be Option 1: Concrete Floor Insulation Board Chipboard/Plywood Option 2: Concrete Floor Battons every 600mm Insulation board between battons Chipboard/Plywood on top of battons...

    Plasterboarding inside of garage

I've just measured the depth of the breeze blocks, they're about 118mm deep. Are you suggesting that I do something like: Brick Wall -> 70mm Battons -> 50mm Celotex -> 12mm Plasterboard -> Skim This will bring the plasterboard over the breeze blocks, although there would only be an air gap...

    Plasterboarding inside of garage

We have a tandum garage, and the back half of it was converted to a room by the previous owners. The garage is I believe a single skin brick wall, with breeze block support columns every X meters Unfortunately, the previous job of plasterboarding was to say the least...terrible. Walls aren't...

Upgrading Texecom without triggering the siren?

So panel was on V3 firmware and everything was fine. Attempted to upgrade the panel to V4, failed to flash it I attempted another reflash of version 4.0, flash succeeded. Restored the board to default and then re-uploaded the configuration from Wintex Now everything is back to normal apart...

Upgrading Texecom without triggering the siren?

Thanks. Not looking too hopeful so far! Hoping I don't have to relearn the siren as I haven't got any ladders with me! EDIT: Not looking good:

Upgrading Texecom without triggering the siren?

Thanks. Will leaving the commissioning link in place for 15 minutes rebuild the ricochet network, or is there a option to do that somewhere? I've had a look through the installation guide and can't seem to find anything relevant to that

Upgrading Texecom without triggering the siren?

So I had to cut all the power to the panel to do anything, keypad came back showing what appeared to be test characters. Alarm Company that came out said the main board was trashed and I needed a new one. Restored the power and tried reflashing version 4. This seemed to work, so I'm all up and...

Upgrading Texecom without triggering the siren?

Ended up calling Texecom. They said restore to factory. Did that, set the siren off again and nothing has changed! Hopefully got someone coming to look at it later. No idea what's going on

Upgrading Texecom without triggering the siren?

Yup I had figured that, I just can't for the life of me find any mention of this hold off mode. EDIT. Found it, but currently the keypad is frozen. Not entirely sure how to fix this one other than to pull the power and the battery and try to reboot it

Upgrading Texecom without triggering the siren?

I'm trying to upgrade my Texecom Elite 48-W to version 4.0, however I am having a few issues, one of them being it stopping the upgrade half way through. Maybe someone can direct me as to what, if anything I am doing wrong please? Access the engineers menu via keypad Open control box panel...

    Pumped shower stopping and squealing

Haven't had chance to get up there yet. Have been up there a few months ago and the tank itself is fine I'd have to go and look. If I recall, it doesn't fill up particularly quick, it's not coming through at the rate the taps on the main do. We did a total renovation and finished about a...

    Pumped shower stopping and squealing

I figured as much. The tank we've got up there already is pretty big as it would have originally served a 3 bath/toilet house. Would connecting the cold water of the showers to the mains help and just use the hot water through the pump? Not sure if that's even possible

    Pumped shower stopping and squealing

We've got a HW Cylinder, fed from a cold water tank. Off the tank and cylinder is a Salamander Dual Shower pump that feeds 2 showers. There seems to be 2 different causes, but the symptoms are both the same. The causes could just be the same thing but in different scenarios. Firstly, when...

    Electrical ring off a ring..?

Thanks. We had sparkies in to do rewire the kitchen when we did it, so I'm happy that the house itself is fine. It's just this modification to the garage which is a bit dodgy! Like said before, I wouldn't be too concerned as i'd stick a fuse to prevent overloading, however up until the other...

    Electrical ring off a ring..?

Pretty much what I assumed. The cables are 2.5mm, however I'm not sure what the rating of the fuse for the circuit is off the top of my head. If I recall from when we had the kitchen redone (where the spur comes from) is a 32A. Is there an easy way to make it compliant without going all the...
