Lytlec fire rated downlights - keep failing!

Someone needs to tell them to stop shipping the wrong lamps with their products!

Lytlec fire rated downlights - keep failing!

It's no wonder all the lamp holders are fried. You need to speak to them.

Lytlec fire rated downlights - keep failing!

They were supplied with the wrong lamp then... You should ask the manufacturer to replace them all! Are you positive you didn't remove the supplied 50W aluminium reflector lamps and fit 35W dichroics... :)

Large Distribution Unit up for Grabs - How do we dispose of?

It's hard to imagine that it has never been used given that all the circuits are numbered in an arbitrary manner. The large isolator in the last panel is labelled as VAX9000 which is a minicomputer dating back to the early 1990's

How to fit room thermostat to valiant boiler

Yes but just turning the knob all the way to the left would have been a lot easier!

    Installing an induction hob

Mine is quite a different design - it has a stainless surround that comfortably takes the weight of the whole unit. I can see why you're concerned about your one as the weight of the hob and all the pans will not be insignificant and will be borne entirely by the glass rim. I would think...

    Installing an induction hob

What possible reason is there? Unless you're planning on turning your kitchen upside down, gravity is all you need!

    Installing an induction hob

My hob is just sat in the aperture using the rubber gasket that came with it. It's heavy enough to have never moved...

Quite - is that not the point?

YES!!!! The ice & snow is back!!

This was done to death on another thread. Tony is based in London and it's massively quicker to use public transport than to drive around. I've got an engineer based in London (completely different industry) and he doesn't even own a car, let alone use it. My guy uses a rucksack and small...

Digital timeclock back up facility (Non Diy)

Wouldn't delay off timers effectively be self-adjusting assuming the main feed came on at an appropriate time or light levels?

Hot water flow rate from Vaillant 937

Surely Dan's earlier advice was the most sensible. Bypass the boiler completely and check the flow rate. If it's poor, you need to sort that out first.

Ex-council ones? All the Xmas lights round here have 16A plugs on them.

    Worcester boiler over presurising

Your pressure vessel may need recharging. Instructions are in the FAQ.

    Frost Protection?

You can only defeat it in the installer menus (and even then, only partially). Biggest problem would of course be the user turning the boiler off - which you can't do anything to prevent!

    Boiler running constantly

It's probably the single most straightforward thing you could do to your heating system. It just connects to pins 3, 4 and 5 on your boiler. 3 = Live 4 = Switched Live 5 = Neutral (if needed) I'm no boiler engineer though so you need to listen to people like namsag!

    Boiler running constantly

Do you have a room thermostat? If not (and it sounds like you don't), then a good upgrade would be to fit a decent programmable room stat. A separate consequence of this will be that it will fix your problem! Something like a Honeywell CM907 or the wireless version the CM927

    Frost Protection?

On the VRC470, it fires if the flow temperature in the pipework is less than 13°.

    Frost Protection?

It depends somewhat on the controller. On the weather compensated units, once the outside temperature drops below 3°, the boiler circulates water for a few minutes and monitors the flow temperature in order to decide whether to fire the boiler. Not sure exactly what happens without the...
