Boiler replacement question... Urgent advice needed please

No way should u automatically be needing a new boiler (unless it's totally f.......... u get the point) Sounds to me like the eng has shut ur boiler off for reasons off spillage eg- DANGEROUS FUMES entering ur house due to faulty casing seals. However BG policy on casing seal testing is with...

Ariston Styx EuroCombi- Burner ignition failure

Yeah get the guy who seviced it back. Could be something as simple as he's knocked the ignition sensing lead off or poor contact hence the intermittence (<<is that a word !!)

Buzzing boiler, think it's gonna cost me.

It's a possiblity that flushing/cleaning of the system will clear the problem up as its usually down to grit & sludge that cause this part to fail. Worth remebering though that the part in question does tend to stick eventually and would require replacing although perhaps not quite as...

    Recruitment

Yeah sorry that kinda came out wrong - sounded good in my head lol ! I agree with ya though 100% - i have worked for companies where i was expected to have as much knowledge as "the guy next to me" who'd been in the industry 25 yrs+ and i was barely out of my apprenticeship at that time. Poor...

    Recruitment

Actually i totally agree with that. OK so i dont make £1500+ (!) a week but im quite happy with that - i go home at 4-5 and forget about it all, having made a "reasonable" wage at the end of the week. I do also see a general slating of us young guys btw- total respect to folks like Agile, etc...

    Boiler servicing

Yes i agree laughable indeed. I feel bad when you get old punters saying "oh i know my boiler is very old son they have told me that u cant get parts anymore" when the boiler is 10 ish years old and u clearly can get parts. And sum of the crap they have on contract is another joke - boilers...

    Asbestos Exposure?

To be fair though i wouldnt regard myself as being a "wuss", just a general concern really as its something ive never really came up against in the past. Funny how things change tho innit - asbestos, lead pipes blah blah blah. In 30 years we'll all discover that we have copper-itis or...

    Ferroli Combi Problem.

Hey mate. Bad news about the burst rads thing - messy business that is. Ok. 1. No h/w - green sensors are famous for going faulty on this boiler. Cost about a £5 each, replace both should be jammin after that. 2. Overflow running - replace prv and repressurise expansion vessel (or...

    Vokera Linea 28 - error 03?

Class act. Okies i assume u cleaned out the venturi when u changed the aps? (the wee hole thingys that the aps hoses attach to at the flue end) Even a slight blockage can cause the 03 fault. I find poking a small allan key or file through them does the trick to get any gunk removed. Are...

    Asbestos Exposure?

OK a good and fair point. However i have started working in an area with a large amount of ancient Glowworm & Main bbu's and am wondering if it is safe/legal/healthy for me to be constantly breaking the seals and /or replacing these ropes all day ? And yes i do wear proper gloves/masks/etc and...

They are a b****r those boilers to work on - leak like sieves all the time. Too many fiddly o'rings and plastic parts for my liking.

    Worcester 24i RSF combi, "HELP"

Am i mistaken in reading this as uve had no heating since last year (surely not !) If thats the case and u could still get hot water but no heating, which is possible as i see it quite a lot, u want to look firstly at the pump. Is it the water pressure ok in the boiler (1-1.2bar when cold) ...
