Im not trying to be funny here but this sounds like a relativley easy problem to diagnose (faulty motor r summit - cant understand the post correctly - its late ye know !!) but dont ya just hate it when ye go to a job that someone has "had a go" at fixing themselves and u end up being stuck...

And i would do it soon as well - i seen one of the boards melt away around the main switch because it was partially on/off (must've been like that for a while though). It'll save you forking out for new parts.

Yeah thats right theres no on board diagnostics on this model (i was gonnae ask u about that !?). The boiler i would reckon is around 6 years old or thereabouts and yes its the one with the black panel/green knobs/led's at lhs. I also had thought about the gas valve - wouldve been an obvious...

Betcha they start leaking now :lol: Also it defo sounds like the expansion pipe is chocked up. Get a new prv too. The existing one will be well done in by now.

OK good. At least u didnt do this work urself. Cant believe people still mess around with boilers themselves nowadays. Basically a code "01" is usually related to the ignition parts of the boiler. As i said it could be a poorly aligned or cracked/faulty electrode/ignition lead or intermittent...

Sorry tony but i wont discuss pricing here. I dont work for myself anyway so i have no prices to discuss, i was just making a small point about companies being able to charge whatever they want to, thats all. And i never will understand fitting refurbished/repaired parts to boilers - surely...

Sorry shouldve made that clearer : Pump and fan both running - no spark. Lockout after 10 secs. Reset and it works fine all day.

Agreed with first point mate, but surely it is unfair to say how much work should be expected for the price charged - we all charge what we want to and the punters know what is is gonna cost before we start (usually) or are given a rough estimate or hrly rate.

:lol: Though maybe he/she is a gas fitter with poor fault finding knowledge (doubt it !) And while i think about it i have found occasions where the fault code on the linea's was wrong and was a completely different fault altogether.

This is an ignition fault is it not ? Could be poorly aligned electrode or blocked venturi or aps hoses. Or perhaps its not even sparking in the first place.
