Water pipes in PIR insulated plasterboard

Run the pipework in 10mm to each rad from a manifold, then the 15mm dab will be more than enough. Remember foil tape over the pipework to help you locate them afterwords.

Conventional to combi conversion. Inlet size reassurance.

I thought that looked like 1/2", with a 1/2 male iron to 15mm compression elbow with a copper feed of it. Or do my eyes deceive me.

    contract of employment,terms and conditions?

I'm still staggered in this day and age, that no paperwork is issued when quoting. What does the quote stipulate, brand, size, location, additional options, warranty. I'm sorry but if someone just rang me with a price and didn't have decency to put something in writing so ALL parties are covered...

Boiler advice needed Baxi Duo Tec & Wireless thermostat

The Duotecs do have quite a large lag between when the demand is activated and the boiler firing up. And then you have the post fan purge. The radiators won't generally be hot to give you a room temperature of 17.5 degrees. You/The Installer can change some parameters on that rf stat.

Advice please on some plumbing work done.

Moral of the story - don't do any work on the 'smaller' type jobs that customers think will only take 5 mins as they can and normally bite you on the ass. If you do it in minutes and charge £50 your ripping someone off, if it takes you 4 hours and charge £270 your ripping someone off. I love...

Am I being harsh on this plumber?

Most experienced installers understand that an Ideal Classic won't have pump overrun nor a permanent Live, and this is normally explained at the quote stage that a separate cable may have to be run. The other option is to run a 4/5 core cable outside in conduit into the roof space and back into...

    Danfoss Programmers

The tp9000 is a hard wired programmable room thermostat with it's own hard wired sensor for heating as well as acting like a normal programmer for hot water. Why don't you just replace the FP715 with an identical one. Lots of cheap ones on ebay.

    Boiler/heating issues

Check the pressure relief valve isn't spewing water outside. Outside just below the boiler there should be a stub of copper pipe, if this is dripping that is your problem.

Cheap Way To Heat Barn Conversion?

If sized correctly, Heatpumps are a good alternative. Went to do a 6 monthly check last week on one we fitted. The elderly customer is over the moon with how it's performed she mentioned the house has never been as warm, and in the years she lived there, she had oil, lpg and we removed a solid...
