When ever anybody moves to a new property they should check the telephone installation and report anything not fixed or dangling ,as in jimbo's case,to BT.Nowdays the engineer is supposed to visit the new customer when the line is taken over,but this does'nt always happen.I would not recommend...

Kev ,I see that but what I can't get my head round is that if a Trv is set at max it would not open and shut off as regards room temp , It would shut off when it reached its max operating temp and if the thermostat was set at below that temp then the thermostat would be controlling the boiler...

I just thought,again not doubting your reply to Webplay,Why not open all the trv's to max temp,then install a thermostat to run the system.Would the system not work like this ,if it did then it would save Webplay the trouble of changing all the valves on his rads.As I said in previous reply I do...

BAHCO,just out of interest from a novice,could he simply leave the TRV in place set at max/fully open, instead of replacing them with normal rad valves.just a thought.

It is a rainwater gully trap,It will sit at the bottom of a rainwater fall pipe ,it will be situated in a hole in the ground approx 400mm deep,when fixed it will be flush with existing block paving.

I have dug some foundations out in my garden and now have piles of good soil and piles of clay/shale.I propose to level parts of my garden using the soil I have dug out.Could I mix the two together and would this give a reasonable medium for growing plants in and laying turf on.

Ryanj, it is mains cold water pipe between kitchen and bathroom and hot water from boiler to bathroom.

Not sure wether this is the right forum but here goes.I have replaced some copper water pipe in my house with plastic pipe,do I have to bridge the section of plastic pipe with earth wire to keep the continuity of the earth or will the fact that the pipes carry water be good enough to preserve...
