    GRUNDFOS Circulator pump

The one fitted is 25 - 50 130 as are the other two. It's a regular 3 bed modern house, quite small. Bit of a long story really but the two spares were bought to replace the main one this summer. There's a faint whine sometimes but nothing too serious. Unfortunately both replacements...

    GRUNDFOS Circulator pump

If I have any success will post back, for anyone that has a noisy pump the 'cartridge' is the bit shown at the end. In essence this has all of the moving parts, bearings ect together with seals. The rest of the unit has no wearable parts. https://youtu.be/puRu4xKfGxA

    GRUNDFOS Circulator pump

Cheers for the replies. The nut looks like a cap of some sort hence the slot, not sure but it won't matter if it breaks. I have Grundfos tech, will give them a bell Monday. Other option is just to buy the cartridge as above complete which is a doddle to fit (four Allen bolts). In fact...

    GRUNDFOS Circulator pump

Hi folks, I wonder if anyone can help with the removal of the impeller nut. This is a stock photo but if needed can take a picture of the actual unit. By removing this nut it allows access to the bearing which needs replacing (on three units). The pumps in question are these at...

No such thing as white gloss any more?

Interior and exterior but there is a little confusion over their labelling, we looked into it here before using http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=2091193#2091193

No such thing as white gloss any more?

A lot of time it's trial and error (mostly error to begin with :) ) The best paint I found for interior or exterior was Sikkens Rubberol BL Satura. It's quite expensive at around £20 litre delivered, but it's easy to use with excellent levelling properties.

    Thinning Paint.........Advise Please

Sorry Dec, I am with Zampa on this one as it's happened too many times. Capillary action is definitely a force here, although I accept more experienced users would be aware of this issue to start with. Overall, I am very happy with the outcome, with several visitors commenting on the...

    Thinning Paint.........Advise Please

The answer to this is yes. At first I thought the white spirit must be in the handle as even when thoroughly dried it still dripped up the handle in a vertical position. This happened with water based paints too. Once it's thinned the brush acts like a filter holding the paint but letting...

    sikkens

You're right about the labelling being confusing, the chap at Brewers went and ordered the oil based primer and t/c, both tinted too  It took me half an hour to convince him Sikkens did a water based equivalent. Anyhow, it finally arrived and I managed to make a start on the front...

Painting bathroom tiles, but which paint to use?

Could you not just re-grout to spruce them up a bit? I could be wrong, but painting tiles sounds like a bad idea, unless it's red tiles which you expect to be painted.

Masking Tape that wont peel the paint off?

Yup, I think the tape itself has a limited shelf life too. Some of the rolls stored in my shed become difficult to peel off the roll, leaving long thin bits - takes forever to use it.

Masking Tape that wont peel the paint off?

Always go for a good quality brand such as 3M, even then it can still remove paint. I maybe wrong, but the longer you leave the tape on the harder it is to get off and the more paint it takes with it.

Are my skirting boards / doors gloss, matt or silk?

I would have said that's gloss as the sheen in the first photo is quite high - perhaps someone with a bit more knowledge could advise.

    Restoring bricks?

I have just pressure washed some paint residue from yellow bricks. When the house was originally painted the decorators got lots of paint on the brick work (not just my house) which I decided to have a go at getting off. The sanding dust I created also left a mess so that had to go too...

Are my skirting boards / doors gloss, matt or silk?

Unlikely to be matt as that's normally an emulsion. If it has a soft sheen finish it's most probably Satin for wood. Eggshell also has a similar finish but out of the two I would opt for Satin wood. Some more info here on the two products: http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=117518

paint old T&G cladding white but so the grain shows thro

Have a look at the Osmo range Country Colour range, it's opaque and designed to let the grain show through. http://www.paintsandinteriors.co.uk/?p=osmo.country.colour It looks expensive but coverage is high plus no need for a separate u/c.

    Sanding residue on brickwork

I do, but nervous of using it ever since it lifted the stones out of the tarmac drive  I'll give it a go as you suggest at a distance. Cheers,

    sikkens

Cheers for that - Yup, I noticed the omission of 'outdoor' on the description - checked the tin this morning, phew - it say's outdoor. Sikkens replied back (on a Sunday) with a list of stockists, presumably who supply coloured BL Satura as this was the question. I check with them in the...

    Sanding residue on brickwork

Yup, yet another question from me  I have sanded down the porch and other areas mostly using wet and dry. Some of the dust has run down the brickwork when wet, I didn't pay much attention until now when I hosed off the areas to find the brickwork marked with a white powder...
