try turning some of the other rads off at the wheelhead/trv end and see if the cold rad starts to warm. if it gets hot turn the others back on and see if the cold rad stays hot. if not possible blockage in valves/pipes/ rad? or rad being starved

hi NO u definately cant service the heat ex. need a rgi. if condense runs externally its more than likely frozen. warm water and plenty of patience!

no its a trap so it should always have water in it. indeed when its first installed we need to fill it to m.i before fitting it in the boiler

try and ensure its completely free, and then either upgrade to 1.25/ 1.5 or make sure its well lagged if leaving the overflow. although with this very cold snap i,ve been to some where even 2 inch has been frozen!

is the noise as its shutting down like a gurgling noise? then its the condense not getting away from the trap in the boiler. the pipe outside what diameter? is it lagged if its overflow? but if the noise is a clanging/banging sound then the waters not getting away from the boiler. try undoing...

yer, thanks for the replies. some of the answers are: no cycling of boiler, no fan, ignition sequence, etc, no "click" of the diverter valve no nothing! the cold water inlet filter is not blocked and i have 19mb of gas at the boiler.
