    Children's playhouse - or is it a shed ?!

This was my first thought. At present in the same situation building decking on top of a slab area. As I had loads of roof slates sitting doing nothing I made pads (slate on a bed of strong mortar). I did have the benefit of a hilti laser to set them within mm but probably not a good idea either...

Hardcore for Sub base - what to do with Brick / Gravel

Not a problem. I dropped my chimney from roof to ground floor during our loft conversion. The bricks were used in the sub base for the extension and my garage floor. Don't worry about voids just give it a good compact and dress off with sand compacted also before you put down you DPM.

    Detached Garage to Shed/Office

Line your outer face(stud work) with a breather membrane and seal the inside face with a moisture barrier (taped and sealed polythene). Sit your sud work on a DPm and install air bricks into top and bottom of the walls to vent the cavity and keep dry.

Shuttering and Ready mix concrete in Birmingham/West Midland

I have to admit I did see one once that we got for £450 and they were only there for half a day. Feckers had diesel dripping everywhere due to them running over a cyclist a few days earlier and puncturing the tank. It may be not the best place to start a keyboard thumping fight on...

Versapanal now in the process of getting their coating. Its Sandtex high build. The coating is supposed to be by their high build roller but I found it difficult to evenly spread the material as it is like smearing clay. In the end I applied it with a brush evenly spreading...

    Possible asbestos in fireplace?

The chances are it probably will be. I had something similar recently and took it to our works (a) specialist remover and he just said yeh no need to test everything was being made of it during this time. Now comes the question how to get rid!

Replace decrepit garage with garden room inc store room

Fitted a door closer today on the big heavy front door. Its now got a slow swng followed by a click in through the latch. Excellent no vibration hitting the window and no hopefully bashed fingers. During this time I got a scream that our 2 year old had struck again smashing a gold fish bowel...

Is it crazy to do a rear extension before loft conversion?

I did my rear extension with a flat roof first. It became a landing stage for materials such as long joists before being put through one of the escape roof windows. Wish I could say I planned it this way. :D

Replace decrepit garage with garden room inc store room

Thinking on putting a couple of windows in the versapanal further back. I was thinking along the lines of a couple of round windows above one another . Not sure.

Replace decrepit garage with garden room inc store room

Woohoo full height windows in. Crapped myself with these after one cracking just moving the pane at £250 just for the glass. Both fitted by myself and my star joiner from work. Got the replacement slightly cheaper at £200 but still a heart stopper standing in the garden looking at the crack in...
