    French Plumbing @ Brazing

I think the silver conent of the s2s are quite low around 2%, the ones i bought were about £35 for a kilo (or £3.50 for 100g). The high silver content rods (15%) were £24.00 for 100g.....nuf said.

    French Plumbing @ Brazing

LOL. thanks for your posts, i'll take a look at some of the high silver content rods then. I read somewhere that uk solder fittings have a socket depth of around 10 times the tube thickness, whereas brazing socket depths are much shallower as brazing is a stronger jointing method. does...

    move internal soil stack

Thanks Richard. I plan to take the dry part up and out as i only need half of the 200mm for the new bath so hopefully removing the 9.5mm plasterboard and gaining at least half of the 200mm boxing within the wall should give me enough space. Although i wont know that till i open it all up...

    move internal soil stack

thanks, yeah the sketch is a bit sketchy, but its in 3d so the bits that look like they run uphill are the wc branches running into the distance to the main stack. i should have drawn the 3d box for the room walls so i all i need to do is offset the upper part of the stack above the wc and...

    Draining hot water storage tank

unscrew the fitting at the top and insert a hosepipe and run the other end to the bath which should hopefully be lower than your Hot Water Storage Vessel. Start sucking. the water should then start flowing out of your tank.

value of my time : quoting

Thanks Tony, thats the most sensible insight into my dilema out of the chaff that has accumulated on the topic. Ive tried to break down the job into what is plumbing and what is generaly diy. Simply pulling up the lino and removing the floorboards are reletively simple DIY tasks and...
