Help with identification of part please!

Do yourself a favour and don't just replace the stuffing box. Strip the front off the diaphragm housing (6 screws and the 10mm tube nut) and clean the pins with wire wool or you may find that the crud on the pin will wear out the new seal quicker than normal.

    OLD BOILER CONDEMNED,WHAT OPTIONS PLEASE

Sorry Tony, guilty of post skimming! I was called out to a Housewarmer recently to do a second opinion for a letting agency, it had been turned off because the first gas fitter got a burner pressure of 19.5 on the firefront instead of 19.2!!!!

    OLD BOILER CONDEMNED,WHAT OPTIONS PLEASE

Why has no-one asked why it was turned off? A repair might be the job and a lot cheaper than a replacement. He would've had to give you a specific reason for the ID situation, what does it say on the warning notice?

    Boilermate 3 radiators not working

is the boiler thermostat (on the suprima) turned up to it's highest setting? If it isn't and the hot water store doesn't quite reach it's target temperature, (even though it may be hot enough for use) then it may not switch over into ch mode.

    Vaillaint Boiler - Leaking! HELP!!!

You probably could do it yourself if you're a bit handy. You have to do a small mod on the circuit board and alter a part in the diverter valve at the same time. Everything you need comes in the kit. You might want to leave yourself a good couple of hours to do it, I've done loads and the...

    Biasi M90D.24S no DHW

Take the front panel off and look towards the back and just right of centre. The little black box has a red led on it, does it light up when you turn on the hot tap?

    potterton puma 80 ?overheating problems

if the red light goes out as soon as the tap is turned off then you can disregard my first post. Something else to look at based on your desriptions is that the heat exchanger needs the fins cleaning. If the spaces between the fins are restricted with debris then the heat from the flames is...

    potterton puma 80 ?overheating problems

In the situation you describe gazdaz36 then you've assumed the demand for dhw has stopped and it's back in ch mode, the wax capsule hasn't returned so the burner keeps firing until overheat. Well sparky the lack of dhw demand brings the primary thermistor into the equasion and when the heat has...

    potterton puma 80 ?overheating problems

quite simple, when the hot water tap is turned off the pin isn't moving back fully so it's staying in dhw mode with the tap off. Bang, clatter, overheat. The clues were in the first post. Get your plummer to see if the red light on the pcb stays on after the tap is switched off. If so it could...
