    Aqualisa

I've got a mate who's bathroom I'm helping him modernise a bit. He's got an Aqualisa Aquavalve 605 in and I was wondering if anyone knows whether the knobs and bezel of the newer more modern looking Aquavalve 700 would fit onto the old 605. It would mean he could buy the knobs and bezel as...

up grade linea from 24 to 28

no. main heat exchanger is bigger which is the one that determines the output not the secondary. The 28kw has a bigger chassis and combustion components as well. If you put a secondary heat exchanger from a 28kw onto a 24kw then the main heat exchanger would only supply it with 24kw.

    Myson Marathon

You'll find no gas fitter charges the same as a solicitor. We'll only drop our prices to that if it's friends or family. We couldn't survive on a solicitors wages!!!!

    Myson Marathon

Open the door and look around the boiler for a little silver tag with a serial number on it. Also attached will be a smaller tag with a 4 digit number, year and week of manufacture. My guess is 8614.

Ferroli 901 fan relay not working?

    (A) It is soldered in but I'm sure someone with microelectronics (if you can find someone) experience can source and fit a relay. (B) They won't sell a relay seperately, they make you buy the whole PCB and they've just gone up in price. (C) You can clean the contacts on the relay You'll have...

Ideal Mini S24 not firing/lighting up

You can certainly find out what's wrong yourself. It'll involve taking off the front panel and undoing the 4 screws underneath so you can pull the electrical controls forward. I personally remove the side panels so the control box drops down comfortably. Next you undo the 3 screws and remove...

    Vaillent VCW T3W

Yeah, a phonecall to vaillant tech and a red face!

    Vaillent VCW T3W

Press the red button to fail the pilot light. Re-ignite the pilot light after 3 minutes and see if that works. There's a microswitch connected to the pilot light button that might not be contacting properly even though the pilot is on, failing and re-igniting sometimes gets it back to normal. If...

    Vokera Compact central heating problem

Does the boiler sound as if it's doing anything when the ch is switched on or is it totally dead?

    Vaillent VCW T3W

the most probable thing is that the overheat button has popped out. It's on the right hand side of the controls housing behind the pressure guage. You have to remove the front panel to get at it and even then it's a bit awkward to press back in. You may have to reach in with a long screwdriver...

boiler trouble what does co mean?

Just an addition to snb's. If you are using the centre switch to switch your central heating on and off (instead of using the switch on the timer) it tends to wear the potentiometer on the display pcb and for some reason puts the linea intermittently into combustion mode the same way pressing...

Worcester Highflow 400. No central heating . Hot water ok.

First you need to know if there's a demand for ch. Turn the ch to on at the timer and turn the dhw thermostat down as far as it will go. You need to access the PCB and look for connector X12, it's the one the timer plugs into. You need to have 240v AC across the top and bottom wires. If you...

    Solution to one stone-cold Radiator

Complete shyte. An expansion vessel doesn't add pressure it absorbs the expansion, sounds like someone's trying to have your pants down. Try what landy said but also is it an existing radiator?? Has it got a thermostatic valve on?? If it has it could just be stuck in the closed position (even...

    Vailant Diverter Valve Problem

It was a while ago! Do you think there'll ever be bootsales just for heating engineers? Full of obsolete parts? Just like VW's. "You can buy this original window for a 23 window splitty samba but I'll need the deeds to your house as payment"

    Salus RT500RF Thermostat

I had one of these that did that, I ended up having to bin 4 jumpers 2,3,4 and 5 on the room stat so it only had one left and then alter the dip switches on the wired side to; #1 up, 2,3,4 and 5 down. After a quick reset it started working perfectly.

    Combi problem

I usually bleed it with the system running but the pilot out. Bleed first in ch mode, check pressure and adjust if necessary then bleed with a hot tap open, check and adjust pressure with it all shut down after that. And just to be picky Teedub, it's 11mm :D

    Vailant Diverter Valve Problem

You can just buy the wax capsule (or thermostatic element as vaillant calls it) for the flow switch (diverter valve) which is the part that causes the problem. It still involves stripping off the flow switch to make the job easy but the last one I bought was around £25. One other question....are...

    Dripping Vaillant Sine 18 T3WF H

Changing a stuffing box is dead easy and they only cost a couple of quid. Once you have the water turned off and the 4 connections to the whole water section disconnected you can remove the whole section and it's only held up there by one grub screw!!! Here's the catch......the screw is most...
