    Dripping Vaillant Sine 18 T3WF H

or it's coming from the stuffing box on top of the water section. Water has a habit of running down. You may have to remove the fascia panel and look for signs of water higher than the nut that's dripping. Also if it is dripping from the nut it's a 1/2" washer not a 3/4".

potterton prima 40 at my witts end

Has anyone cleaned down through the heat exchanger fins to make sure there's an adequate passage for the fumes to pass? If the fan can't suck through it fast enough it would affect the differential air pressure. That would also tie in with the "works without one pipe connected theory" It's a...

    Biasi prisma boiler fault

Could be an airflow problem on the prisma. Easy way to test is to remove the combustion case cover and run the dhw. If the flame stays on it's definately airflow. Either a blocked venturi or faulty air pressure switch most likely. Removing the combustion case cover is really a RGI's area mind...

potterton prima 40 at my witts end

Has anyone looked at the fan blades to make sure they aren't crudded up? If they are the fan would spin at the right speed but not produce enough air pressure. Be careful not to disturb any clips on the fan blades they're there to balance it (a bit like a car wheel). If the fan goes out of...

Ariston dia 24MFFICE. We'ar is Weargas!

Jaysus Chris!!! 1:43 AM!! Was it keeping you up?? I've never ever had to recharge a PV on a dia (or dire more appropriately). I would've gone straight for the top rather than opposite the inlet, ease of access and all that shyte. While you were being kept awake by thoughts of boilers I was...

potterton prima 40 at my witts end

The venturi are the parts inside the flue that the red and white tubes connect to. Any restriction in the venturi will result in not enough air pressure to move the air pressure switch. Is there a garlic bread in this for the one who gives you the right diagnosis?

    Vaillant Turbomax 242/282 Problems Cont'd

the turbomax had a horrible problem of when it shuts down because it reaches temperature it doesn't let the air pressure switch drop out (even though the fan stops) so it won't let the pcb go through the ignition sequence again and you get a lock out light. It's worth a look if you can catch it...

    baxi combi instant 105e

Baxi will only sell you the complete manifold (coloured green). If you go into your local parts stockist and ask to see the exploded diagram from an Ideal Mini C it's the same manifold but Ideal do just the bit at the top that's leaking as a spare. I think they call it a valve service kit, you...

Inset Gas Fire - Flue Flow Test

It's probably a focal point badged up as a slimline (B&Q special). I would've said he shudda took it out to inspect properly as namsag said you can't see the catchment by looking underneath. The whole inside may not be bricked up properly so who knows where the POC are going? It's on the RGI's...

Inset Gas Fire - Flue Flow Test

What a pickle!!! Looking at it from that point why don't you tell the tenant that the flue/chimney is your property and you'll have to add an additional lease for the use of (in the case that access isn't allowed for safety tests) the flue/chimney. I think £350 a week sounds right for use of...

Inset Gas Fire - Flue Flow Test

had a similar problem. CORGI said "record the details of the appliance (make/model) mark as "not landlords" and "not tested" line through every other box. If it's not the landlords property it's not their responsibilty. That's the legal stand point but the gas fitter with an ounce of conscience...

    Baxi combi 105e dhw fault

The whole assy you stripped actually comes away from the rest of the valve by removing the black clip behind it. The pin I was referring to is furthur behind the one you did but if you've got it working I guess you picked the right one!

    Viessmann 100

I bought one of those for my own house when they first came out. My god I said!! A domestic Viessmann boiler!!!! How can I lose???? Turns out I was to become it's "biatch" and I had to supply the KY. Many, many repairs. I do have to hand it to viessmann though they got it wrong and they know it...

    Baxi combi 105e dhw fault

sounds like it's sticking in hot water mode so it'll not tell the diverter valve to move into ch position. Pretty common on the instants. Usually not the dhw diaphragm section that sticks but the pin inside the section behind it. You can test the theory by removing the dhw microswitch and seeing...

Problem with Vokera Option combi Boiler

only if it was stuck in the dhw "on" position but that would stop the pump so as you say the pump is spinning we can discount that. I'm not aware of any filter on the return of the option either unless fitted seperately by the installer.

Problem with Vokera Option combi Boiler

    1. Is the pump definately spinning? The options have a terrible habit of the dhw flow switch sticking on which tells the boiler to fire but it stops the pump. Pull one of the wires off the dhw flow switch and turn the ch on to find out if this is the case. 2. Have you got thermostatic rad...

Boilermate II no central heating but hot water.

Just a simple one to check as I've had it loads of times. Make sure no-one has turned the boiler thermostat down because if the boiler doesn't get the dhw store up to a certain temp it'll keep trying and won't let the ch come on.
