No the old paint is fine where it is , just remove any loose or flaking paint, the decorator will finish off prepping the wall anyway That rad needs to come off though.....

Never ever ever assume , test the latch or bypass it to eliminate it then you can move onto something else which might have failed It is the biggest mistake in fault finding to assume something is ok and not bothering to test it

No don't presume, the latch can be faulty and the dishwasher fills up A quick test is to press the door firmly in ( doesn't always work though the latch will need testing or bypassing)
