    New consumer and supply cable

Depends on the rating of your service fuse and length of tails. I think you'll struggle to find either a 100mA or a 30mA main isolator - if you do then it will be grossly under spec for a domestic install. Are you refering to a 100A main isolator or a 30mA (or even 100mA) RCD? These...

This must be a windup. It is the only possible explantion.

Can I fit a shower in the bedroom?

Bit off topic but I saw a toilet installed in a bedroom once. It looked ridiculous perched next to the double bed. The room didn't smell too good either...

    Fuse holder

Best bet might be to try and contact Henley direct. But I really don't think you'll have much luck. Also, it's not really a solution because whatever has caused the burning to the old parts will do the same to the new. This fuseboard really requires some attention much sooner than later. It's...

    Joiner doing electrical work

Puffin, you might have had more info from posters if you asked for this to be moved into the Electrics UK section. I'm sure when I last checked Scotland was still part of the UK. Am I right in thinking you paid for professional electrical work which was completed by a joiner but...

Wiring for Outdoor Light & Security Light

Maybe if steve extended his house over the garden then everything could all be inside and not notifiable.

    PFC and PSC

If you measure the PFC across the main switch in a CU at 6.1kA and they're M6 breakers then i guess it could be a problem? :?:

    Fuse holder

It's definitely time for a replacment. As already stated you won't be able to get these parts anymore. Also, the fact they are badly burnt/scorched suggests problems that have already been highlighted by flameport.

Wiring for Outdoor Light & Security Light

If you're using the weatherproof FCU you mention then if you're supplying it from the ring final circuit then just pop the appropriate fuse in the FCU. If you come from the lighting circuit then you wouldn't need to fuse down usually. It's normally easier to use the ring final/radial circuits...

    Cabling between Armoured and CU

Apologies. I thought it did. I think this topic got discussed to death recently anyway.

    PFC and PSC

Did you read my post? ;) PFC is the higher of PEFC or PSCC. You record the higher of the two readings.

    PFC and PSC

Ze - with the protective bonding removed (L/PE). PEFC - is the L/PE reading with the protective bonding in place. PSCC - is the L/N reading. PFC is the higher of PEFC and PSCC (nearly always the PSCC figure). They are all three wire methods on my tester, I just switch between LOOP...

    Cabling between Armoured and CU

Is this appropriately fused down for the lighting circuit? You could use something like this. Not a bog standard junction box, no. It needs to be properly terminated and the armour must be earthed. What's it being indoors got to do with anything? It's not all indoors is it? The armour must...

    Appliance tripping mystery . . .

Because an RCBO or RCD will measure earth leakage current. If it is this tripping then there is potentially a fault with the breadmaker. Do you have an RCD on your installation? If you don't and he does and it is the RCD that is tripping then take it back and get a new one - it is faulty.

    1st floor lighting problem

What was the N>E voltage? As suggested it sounds like a neutral has become disconnected/damaged somewhere.

    A bit of bondage!

Well i'm glad that's nice and clear then. Totally. I have absolutely no idea what you're saying! Surely if you were going to write a book like this you would have someone check the work/proof read it?

faulty house cut out fuse carrier

If it is the main fuse for the house (you mention the lack of seals) then get on the phone to your DNO and explain that the main fuse is getting very hot and the surround is badly damaged. They should come out fairly quickly to sort it out. It has the potential to become (or already is) a fire...

Bosch oven in Germany needs wireing

More info needed here. What power rating is the oven and at what volatge? Are there three phases present or only single phase and neutral? How was the old oven wired? Probably not. But what do the instruction say? I've tried googling to find them but any links I can find at all are 'auf...
