    Ideal E Type cf 80N

Not a boiler problem, this boiler is bullet proof, you don't need a contract for one of those. Any idiot could sort one, there's virtually nothing in them to go wrong. The boiler will probably outlast your house  However your variant boiler does need an annual service done every...

Boiler: Alpha HE CB25/33 No Power

How is the boiler connected to the electric? If it's by a cable and plug going into a socket check/ replace the plug's fuse which should be 3amp or if it's connected to a fused spur/outlet check/replace the 3amp fuse in that. After doing the above and the fuse is ok and still no power to the...

    Toilet Flush doesn't always clear

As the guy above said four minutes is a long time to fill a cistern so, no, changing the toilet might not solve your problems plus the other points he raised are perfectly valid with regard to the settings on the syphon. I'd be looking at what's causing the cistern to fill up so slowly before...

    Toilet Flush doesn't always clear

Sounds like you need a new ball-valve in the cistern or a new washer in the old ball-valve, not a syphon. Does the cistern fill up really slowly and is the water level in the cistern low? Tony

Fitting a Magnaclean - Installation Location on System

Well looking at both of them I'd have to say the Magnaclean cause it's obviously larger but I'll wait and see. The Spirovent looks like a Honeywell MV whereas an ACL Drayton MV looks like a Magnaclean if you catch my drift

Fitting a Magnaclean - Installation Location on System

I've just bought my first Spirovent magnabooster and compared to the Magnaclean, for which I have a hospital kit in the van, it looks the dogs. A proper brass plumbing fitting not some Far East manufactured piece of cheap plastic ready to fall apart at the drop of a hat. Incidently the...

Potterton Suprima 50 L - Flashing Green Light

Sounds like a motorised valve fault or even the pump. I used to know the fault sequence for these but can't recall now but think it was flashing red led=external fault (MV, pump, room stat, cylinder stat or programmer) or solid red light=internal meaning boiler fault. Could be the other way...

God save the queen indeed Dick, oh the ironing  Anyway re SNIPEF never bothered with it mate although they have been pestering me lately but I just ignored them, think it was the £450 joining fee that put me off  Funnily enough I was at the plumbers federation Chrismas do in...

    Boiler scrappage Scotland

Guy above is spot on, I spoke with the trust on Teusday morning and they confirmed exactly what he posted which means that me and thousands of other RGIs can't installed the boilers under the voucher scheme thus pushing up the price of the jobs to those with vouchers. I'm already turning...

    leaking mira sprint sower

New shower time then, sorry. Just make sure you buy one with the same plumbing and electrical entry points and KW output or buy the same Mira shower if it's still a current model but give Mira a bell first to check! 01242262888

    leaking mira sprint sower

You need to take the cover off mate and have a look but make sure you turn off the electrics to the shower before doing this or get someone in who knows what they're doing.

    Worcester Bosch CDi Programmer

But the Honeywell CM927 will only have one year's warranty whereas the DT10 RF and all WB controllers have the same warranty as the boiler which is an additional four years if installed by a WB AI. IMO the Honeywell is by far the better programmer but I've had a couple go toes up just out of...

Worcester Bosch Greenstar Heatslave Programmer Fault?

To be fair, Transam, WB are one of the better manufacturers for using common sense when parts fail just out of warranty. Some other manufacturers are making customers jump through hoops now when they try to register thier warranty siting DPA if you (installer) attempts to register the...
