Hi,I've got some interior windows to paint with water based satinwoon(dulux) after thourghly prepping them do you think a coat of acrylic primer/undercoat or one of the zinsser primers should be used first or just straight on with the satinwood ,they have been previously coated with oil based satin

Thanks,yeah you're right it is the wrong time to do it I thought I might get away with it as is was a front door,do you think it will dry eventually and it won't do any harm to the door

Hi I've recently coated a exterior front door with sadolin one coat woodstain rosewood it had been done a week earlier in one coat mahogany but the customer didn't like the colour,it's been done a week and is still not dry I've not come across this before and not sure what to do will it dry or...

So a different brand of primer is ok to use with dulux if I can't use the metalshield one

Thanks for the reply is it ok to use dulux metalshield primer with the weathershield u/c and gloss or does it have to be used only with the metalshield system,if so is it ok to use a different brand of primer as suggested(johnstones),with dulux weathershield as I don't think dulux do a zinc...

Hi,I've primed some bare exterior window frames with dulux weathershield preservative/primer and have left them like this for 3 days will it be ok to apply undercoat over this after that time or will I have to reprime them with the preservative primer again before undercoating.

Hi,just a quick update on sikkens primer plus,sikkens emailed me again to say its ok to use over existing coatings it's just that it is not entirely necessary ,still a little bit confusing might give up using it in the future and use something else

Thanks but how would you use the product just prime bare bits then give it two coats of Xd gloss,I have spoken to sikkens in the past and they said using the primer plus over existing coatings was fine but now they say not to,confused
