Most heat only fits include a drain cock on pipework just above the boiler.......try backfilling system with hose connected to a tap be careful not to overfill !

These days most manufacturers will allow a plugged boiler if it goes into an unswitched socket and from the pic i believe it is unswitched. Others have covered the other points you raised

The pump is airlocked. Undo the screw in the centre and bleed the pump and make sure the auto airvent nipple is open
