Unfortunately sometimes you need to replace the diverter section not just the wax capsule. They are dammed hard to get off too if the back nut won't come off easy......doubt it's the pump.....you would get thermal transfer into the flow pipe at least a little way.

Nope. Change the batteries first. Follow instructions on how to get the transmitter and reciever to talk to each other. If this doesn't work only then replace the unit. It may be covered under your warranty. Check this after you replace the batteries

Correct. I belive you can use the diaphram repair kit (contains the tiny O ring). Be warned tho they are a swine to strip. Perhaps replacing the back section will be easier. It is available as a single part

Most heat only boilers are 'dumb'. If your boiler fires on heating but not hot water then 99% of the time it's external. Just change the port valve.......40 minute job including drain down. Simples
