    potterton performa 28

If it only happens on hot water i think it is a diverter issue not pump.....do the 2 pins one at back left and one at front both move and make contact before firing? If so i am sure its the DV

Baxi Combi 80 HE Plus PCB?

As i rub my crystal ball......... sorry, too few details to go on. It is possible it is just a pcb issue....and just as posible something else took the board out. You need a competant engineer to decide....otherwise it's just guess work

    POTTERTON BOIULER LOCK-OUT

I am confused......no information....what boiler? And why is a pump problem a symptom of a bad boiler if it is seperate? Some boilers have integral pump overun some don't so a sweeping statement that the boiler is 'bad' without identifying if it is the boiler that is the problem doesn't help...

    moving hot water storage tank

nope. Pressure is only generated from outlet of cws to top of hw cylinder......FLOW rates will be higher the lower the tap but not pressure.......check it if you like on your home taps.......

    moving hot water storage tank

JPC.....nope. Head is the pressure generated by the distance between the cws and the top of the hws.....therefore pressure is only generated by the head.....not by the distance from cws to tap outlet.

    moving hot water storage tank

Yes but remember that the closer the cws tank is to the hwc then the lower the 'head' and therefore the pressure......should not be a problem if you put it in the garage tho. Either way it is quite a big job

can I use the cooker point?

Odd one this. If a meter was fitted then it would have been left with a sealing disc in it and a warning notice attached.......because the fitter would not have known what appliances (i assume) would/may have been attached and a tightness test would need to be carried out. I suggest you...

Potterton Promax 15/2 boiler not switching off

Yes, call out a gas safe engineer. To change the electrodes you have breached the combustion chamber.....not a good idea unless your competant.

Black 22mm plastic pipe - insert required?

I don't think that is 22mm plastic. I am pretty sure it's black alkethene and will almost certianly be imperial. You need to cut a small peice and take it to pipecenter. They have the universal fittings for it (philmac) but each pipe needs a different sized insert......usually 5/8ths for...

Powermax 155 Boiler - Lockout and loud noises

Yes i can diagnose but because of the nature of this boiler it is not diy work and these babies need to be carefully repaired/serviced. Any competant powermax repairer will know instantly what the problem is so get one in and describe what you have posted on here.

    22mm or 28mm

Did you say 80btu's??......thats about the heat output of a candle  I assume you meant 80k of btu's or 24kw approx. The circ pipe size shouldn't be an issue at 22mm. Some very large output boilers (suprima 120L for instance) require 28mm or 35mm for the circs just to ensure the heat...

    Baxi 100 he plus leaking

Hi Danny, I beg to differ on charges. You are paying for their knowledge. Thats why they charge as they do. You are lucky enough to have picked up the info on this site. As you yourself said......it's easy once you have done it (and know where/what to look for). I guess that applies to brain...

    Powermax 155x replacement

It is the promax heatstore and nickso it is the replacement for the powermax he.......and it isn't as bad as either the previous 2........ Can't say i am an admirer tho....

    Powermax 155x replacement

Potterton now make a replacement for the 155x.......it can use the same style flue terminals (but not the same flue).....It won't be cheap and you won't find too many admirers on here... And if your 155x tank is leaking then it's caput

E119 on Baxi Duo-Tec Combi HE 33 although pressurised

Not if it has been fitted to a dirty system......the amount of times i have seen 'flushed' systems that have been drained and refilled with fresh water a few times and called 'flushed'....... The pressure switches on these are sensitive but not s~~te, ie they will show E119 at anything below...
