thb i prefer curved but yeah if you want to try to get it straight you can , try stringing a chaulk like accross it (down the length) this will show the lows and highs so you know what you bonding to and give you a straight line to skim afterwards

i was thinking it looked to dark to be bonding but i forgot that you used to get grey bonding, well i think you still can but i havent seen any in years

with regards to the coveing mate its swings and roundabouts, you can skim up to the cove or take it down but then you have to buy new coveing and have it fitted and painted, all extra expenses that are not needed is the exsisting coveing is in good nick

all round better finish, plus hes giveing a tradesman a job to do keeps everyone happy
