you can buy little sachets of feb and waterproofer and such forth i had a whole box full a few years back they were given to me by a guy i know who works at sika :wink:

take the old stuff off mate as people have said above then to give you better sound insulation apply a couple of thick coats of thistle sound coat, then dot and dab sound check plasterboards over the top, skim and finished (obviously paint at some point :lol: )

makeing it wetter wnt hold it back mate plaster setting is a reaction once its mixed it has as long as it takes, also if you make it wetter you will be slower as itll be harder to handel for a novice. what size is the ceilin, youll be supprised at how much you can get on without it goin off.

indeed RC you do still need to pva but a brush into the corners soon sorts that out

heres how i do it. lay on first, flatten twitch the corners, lay on second coat flatten, twitch corners, cross trowel. wet trowel, twitch corners cross trowel, seccond wet trowel, then a cross trowel with a plastic trowel to take any fat or water out of corners and just to give a nice...
