    Regarding screwing the plates to the brick piers, should I use normal nylon raw plugs to should I use the stronger metal sheild anchors, as they 5 bar gates will obviously be very heavy ? Thanks

    Thanks for your responses. Can you tell me how I would attach the bottom band on a a five bar gate, as I don't beleive that any of the horizontal braces are wide/thick enough to take a band hinge ? A picture would be very useful if someone else has done this !? Thanks

    Hello, I want to hang some 5 bar gates on our drive entrance piers. The piers are 18"x18". Can I hang the gates directly onto the piers, our would it be better to mount some wood onto the pier first and then screw/bolt the fixings onto the wood ? Many Thanks
