    Insulating a 1930s open porch

Yep, this probably explains why my office gets so cold in winter!

    Insulating a 1930s open porch

External wall insulation? Thanks for highlighting this, my house is exactly the same and hadn't considered that it was single skin there!

    Retro fit underfloor heating fitting

You need to install the mixing manifold and pump between the main central heating pipes and the UFH pipes, as UFH runs at a lower temperature than radiators. You cannot just connect the UFH pipes directly to the radiator.

    Electricity rebate

No, these are peaker plants that only come online during high demand. They are expensive to run, otherwise they would be used all the time.

    flat roof edge detailing

This is pretty much what I did at one edge in order to get the fascia level. I think it looks pretty neat. Sorry, not got a clear photo from below.

Why can't you run the EPDM over a wooden upstand, overlapping a fascia board and then pin it against the fascia with the EPDM upstand?

    flat roof edge detailing

Having fitted a new EPDM roof to my garage a few months ago, I don't see any way you will be able to pin the upstands in without some sort of vertical board. I also don't think you would be able to attach a fascia to the edge of the OSB very easily, so IMO the best solution is to replicate what...

This photo looks like the existing roof has a fascia board? Why can you not construct it in the same manner?

You're welcome to read what Octopus themselves have to say about it... https://octopus.energy/agile/

    Electricity rebate

If there is more renewables generation than demand (a windy night, for example) then the market price for energy could be negative for that period.

    Electricity rebate

Well there (were anyway) also times where they might be paying you 5-10 p/kWh you use, so if you had an EV or home battery it could work out quite lucrative.

    Electricity rebate

They are not charging more in the peak times, just giving a rebate for reduced consumption. (In this trial anyway. Octopus also have a tariff called Agile which changes the unit cost every half hour based on market price - I believe at peak times (~4-7pm) it could.be up to 35p (capped at this...

    Electricity rebate

You won't be offered any rebate without history....... I believe the average consumption was based on 30 days history.

    Electricity rebate

Yes, the way it worked in the Octopus trial was that they knew your average usage during the peak time from your smart meter history, and every kWh you used less than this average you would be compensated for based on how much electricity was costing at that time. The headline of £6/kWh is an...

    Bath recommendations please....

Yeah we went for the 800 wide too as we use it as a shower bath. Originally we planned to get a L shaped bath, but they only seemed to go to 750 wide so this has more standing space anyway!

    Bath recommendations please....

We've also just had a Carronite Quantum fitted. Seems to be very sturdy, which was my main concern when going to a plastic bath. (Old one was cast iron).

Get rid of Norton, it is more of a virus than anything it will find. Windows Defender (inbuilt to windows) is all you need.
