Check that the time on the hive is correct, the time should be set by the internet connection but sometimes they wander for some reason

The nest will work of sorts with your setup, but if the core temp depletes then the heating wont come on untill the core temp is above the set temp, so if someone has a bath or a long shower and your radiators start cooling then heating again, then that is your unit just doing what it does

OK if you want to do it yourself, you need to turn everything off and drain the unit, looks like you can do that on the manifold just below the silver vessel, you MUST leave this drain point open and remove the dust cap at the top of that vessel, and pump it up to 1.0 Bar, then close the drain...

That is what an electrical combi is, they are all thermal stores and they call them Combis which is totally wrong,

Think of the wiring as a circle, that is why it is called a circuit, to break that circuit you use a series of switches, either the programmer, or the thermostat, if you just disconnect the the thermostat you have broken the circuit so the other control whatever that may be can never complete...
