Is this trade standard concrete patching...

No complaint made. I am not pleased. They are finished. Am also the last person to not kick up a fuss.... If I had read the contract I would have seen their blurb. Says they do not finish, just fill. As mentioned already, that actual blurb is word for word same as some regular big firms. But...

Is this trade standard concrete patching...

I think this wraps up as a cautionary tale. Contract said 'reinstate' but small print T's and C's says "will fill any holes and level the surface but will not replace the original surface or construction. Redecoration or repair of damage needed after completion of our work is your...

Is this trade standard concrete patching...

It's got off really hard. It's consistent throughout/they didn't switch *to* it after running low on materials. They left site and presumably bought it mixed; it came in a pick up pre mixed and quite dry. They wacked the sub layer with what looked like type 1, then dry filled it, with floats...

New water supply pipe install with no drain off? Ok?

They did fit it. It looks like they had to go back into the pipework and undo their first fit of just a stopcock. Buggered if I know why they would do it in this way... But it's all done now.

Is this trade standard concrete patching...

Well, it's really weird. The water just falls straight through it. Like it's got no fines at all. Feels like it's been getting harder since about 6 pm.. so there's absolutely *no* wetting it up option. Anyone know what it is, if it matters etc. The quote says simply 'reinstate'... So...? I...

Is this trade standard concrete patching...

New water pipe. Proper approved company... I have done a spot of concreting with a screed plank where you work the fat up and make the typical pattern... This just looks dry, and weird. Will it hold up? Any thoughts appreciated

New water supply pipe install with no drain off? Ok?

So you can't 'invite' water from the household cold water into the central heating loop and drain down through that can you? I e. Via opening the loop filler?

New water supply pipe install with no drain off? Ok?

Company fitting new blue water supply have come in under boilers cold feed to join supply there. They have fitted a stop cock but no drain off. Is this ok, as their quote says they will do so. Don't want to pick fault if perhaps they didn't need to for some reason.... I.e. like the central...

Wooden wedges on rafter ends, reduced tile pitch and to fix facias?

Thank you. Hadn't even considered cheek to cheek side fixing. Yes much more solid and of course hidden within facia and soffit. Tiles.. Double Roman tiles I think. Guessing I would fix two ends pieces and set a string line to locate intermediaries? Like with bricks...

Wooden wedges on rafter ends, reduced tile pitch and to fix facias?

Sorry, yes badly drawn, badly worded. But you get it basically. I did not want to just copy something that was problematic somewhere else..

Wooden wedges on rafter ends, reduced tile pitch and to fix facias?

about the worst drawing ever maybe... I want the gutter to project as far forward as poss to protect the door from rain. The eaves is just above head height. These wooden wedges in blue were on the rafters of the roof I am re building. They allow for fixing the facia to the wedge and also reduce...

Do they make quality 1/4 inch bit holders?

eBay and Amazon are full of the same pics of these 1/4 inch bit holders. I bought a set and for a recent project and they have been really convenient. I got about 15 and have had all the bits I need on my tool belt. Very handy. Though about 5 days in it turns out they are poor quality and are...

Value in insulating non habitable space?

Reassuring input. I asked the question as was not sure, but your rationale makes sense in this odd case (most places aren't damp.) As you say, reducing air flow and heat loss could cause problems by making coldest spots condensation zones.

Value in insulating non habitable space?

None of which occured originally. Water inputs were through floor, from leaking roof, from WC, and from washing machine. (Clearly counteracting successfully) outputs were the huge amount of free air moving around given the old design /build. The new roof will be water tight, everything else...

Value in insulating non habitable space?

I am putting a new roof on a lean to comprising of larder, WC and storage space. The slab is likely without DPC. The bricks are single skin. It will need plenty of air flowing about to stay dry. It got overly warm in summer as a result of being half glazed, but this won't matter as will soon...

Is this wooden lintel spanning doorway ok?

Thanks Andy. My wife agrees. Have not got that kind of money though and are aiming really to stop the current leaks and the glass framed section coming down on us as it's rotten. We had a quote for what I am going to attempt, but not inc external shiplap to RHS/timber section, nor electric...
