    Replacing the Kitchen

I think the clue is in the name here, ring main/fc - if the actual definition of it is two routes back to the same source, then should I change the 2.5mm spur off my ring main to a 4mm because it's wired from the supply souce, and not a spur off the ring, by your definition?

Drum on wheel cannot be removed

If still struggling, get a decent socket and knuckle bar, and add a five foot scaffold tube (or other similar strong holllow metal bar that won't give) to the end of the bar - very carefully push down on the end (it'll need a surprisingly small amount of force, and won't screw it up like a nut...

Ford Capri Mk3 Not Starting At All

Once the battery is sorted, if the starter still won't turn the engine over, either give it a good tap with a hammer, or put the car in gear and rock it backwards and forwards, then try and start it again (take it back out of gear first) Nice fun cars to drive, some work on the rear suspension...

NCD and legal protection. Are they worth it?

Protected NCD is a no brainer, get a quote from Norwich Union for guaranteed bonus for more peace of mind (it's better than protected by far). Legal protection is well worth having, but an absolute must have on TPFT policies (otherwise you'll have to instruct someone to recover the money for...

    vista users beware

Time to dig out a ps2 keyboard to add to the pile of junk in the front of my van then!

    vista "box"

You mean the run... dialogue? If you type the same thing into the search box at the bottom of the vista start menu it automatically runs it rather than searching for it - eg. I just clicked the vista start button then immediately typed "cmd" then hit enter and up came the command prompt - had me...

2006 Ford Focus interior door panel

They might well do, there are usually some screws behind the handles though, both the big grab handle and the little pull to open handle - plus press studs, plus usually screws at least along the bottom edge - I haven't removed a later focus one no, can ask someone who probably has later if need be.

2006 Ford Focus interior door panel

The screws will be around the edges of the panel cut into slots at the bottom, on the inside near the checkstrap, and behind the inserts in the wingmirror panel cover, the door pull handle and the locking handle - you'll find em!

    two master sockets

Most likely not, unless: (a) You're on a very long line, in which case two master sockets can make the capacitance a little high, and this causes spurious faults including "ring trip" (where it doesn't stop ringing when you pick up the phone, or other ringing related faults) (b) You're on a...

    Lighting Load Calculations

You can consider all the LV lights as a fixed load of 50W - the idea of the calculation is mainly around traditional ceiling rose fittings - each one should be calculated to be 100W, even if it is currently fitted with a 40W lamp (or even an 8/11W CFL!). This is still pretty pointless, as you...

    Bell Box Resilience

The 0800 number for the automated system to take redcare offline is 24 hour - it requires your EIN and some numbers off the back of your security ID card - it gives you a recorded message when done stating that redcare is now disabled, and reminding you to recommission it when work is done -...

    Chattering wipers

Get some rain-x too, means you don't have to use them as much (it adds a coating that repels water) and makes them run smoother. Does it do it all the time, or just at high road speeds?

    Anyone else use "Chips Away"?

As they are a franchise, service and quality seem to vary depending on which franchise you go to - this shouldn't really be the case with franchises, but then if you think about it there's always that McDonalds you'd never go back to because it gave you a bad gut etc. - so it happens to the...

    Satellite Cable Crimpers.

Maplin do a slightly cheaper version of that tool, about 16 quid or so, I have one, but if buying again I'd get the slightly more expensive one as the one I have doesn't fit as many sizes of connector, and is a sod to do BNC centre pins with.
