Same question but for metal conduit here?

    Storage heaters

They are quite heavy, but I have moved a couple, yes.

Oh dear, cavity wiring and new insulation.

I imagine that it'd be even easier to take a couple of socket fronts off upstairs and down, to see where the cables run.

   I must have forgotten how expensive bricks were.... (~ 20p each?)

    17th Edition for extra sockets.

Same thing that makes British Gas engineers try and rewire half your house when fitting a new combi, as opposed to just sorting out the main earth bonding?

    Storage heaters

Every local authority provided recycling centre now has to provide an asbestos disposal facility - for free (to local householders) - in england at least - so get the householder (or you in a car rather than a van) to take said asbestos down the tip - just don't cut, drill or drop the stuff...

    earth bonding in bathroom

Sorry, I'm no expert, but my thinking in my original reply was actually correct, I just wasn't sure when I wrote it whether or not it was compulsory to connect to the same circuit or just a common earth - I am now due to your answer!

Don't all toolboxes, for that little extra tweak?

What have they done to insulation tape?

If you want it to stay stuck use self-amalgamating tape - but be aware that you have to stretch it, and it won't stick to anything but itself - pretty useful stuff nonetheless - or use heatshrink - but don't use a fag lighter to shrink it apparently

    earth bonding in bathroom

As in which earth you connect it to, not saying that the entire bonding exercise is optional!!

    earth bonding in bathroom

Might be better to connect it to an earth on the lighting circuit, if there are no sockets in the bathroom.... probably not a requirement or anything.

    Garden Security Light

Why, specifically, depending on what cable was run, would you need to do this? And if for reasons of safety, why not 3 amp? Or 1 amp!!

Just trying to work out how this would look, if the comment was taken literally, but it's frazzled my little brain!!

Volex CUs now in B&Q for 40 quid

If you can get the rcbos for reasonable money that sounds like a plan, or alternatively I (many others) could replace my six way wylex standard board with one and only use half the board for example, the protected side that is...

Oh dear, cavity wiring and new insulation.

Sounds dangerous and irresponsible to me, although probably within the regs to do it, would have trouble explaining it as more than a temporary measure - for one the op knows that the circuit is heavily loaded, for another he knows that it has actually been damaged to an unknown (despite being...

    Putting larger fuse in CU

I just fitted six MCBs to my old (90s) wylex board, so have a couple of 30 amp rewirables with flashguards kicking about now, if the op wants one - plus there's loads on ebay - just make sure you get the matching holder. It's not really a good idea to use a smaller fuse carrier and put larger...

    Plumbing Cost For Buckingham Palace

I don't agree with that. 1. It doesn't cost £200 to get a bloke to site, even in a large bureaucratic company like the one I work for it only costs £50-60 including an hours work out of the guy once he gets there. 2. Someone working on their own / for a smaller company won't come out and give...
