Hear it but dont see it.

I had a visit to A&E via an Ambulance on Wednesday. I was shocked at the amount of people in the corridors on beds, A&E was jam packed. I nearly didn't go to hospital, I couldn't believe with my fitness level that I could be having a heart attack and id just pulled a muscle, beside the pain was...

    Wall units around pillar

I would leave it as you have done it. Putting the 500 on left will only accentuate the pier and you'll lose the symmetry of 600/500/600, but that only matters if you like symmetry. If you really need to lose the out of square, I would fix the bracket of the right hanger on the left hand wall...

    Wall units around pillar

I think you are over thinking it, but say you do want to pull the wall units square to the pier then you would have to cut firrings to correct the out of square. Is that wall square to the return wall it runs into? Are there base units below? Have these been fitted to lose the out of square...

    Wall units around pillar

Battening the wall may not solve the problem, you will also end up with a large gap at the bottom rear of the wall units which is hard to disguise. The type of hangers in your wall units allow for quite a bit of inward outward adjustment. When I hang a wall unit I wind it back fully to the...

    Wall units around pillar

The unit depth is now defunct because of the pier you have had to cut it around. I would cut a white panel the size of internal measurements of the unit "height & width" and use that to create a false back. You can then cut the shelves down and use the cupboard for spices, bag of sugar and such...

    Cycling.

We've nipped of to the West Country for a bit of R&R & Cycling. I looked at buying bike Mounts for the bikes to secure them in the van. Then thought, I can make bike Mounts, being a Carpenter Joiner come kitchen fitter with a box in my garage filled with plumbing stuff, I made my own, much to...

    On line Only Banks

T212 are offering the best rate for fixed rate cash ISA' according Money Saving Expert which is brilliant, but having zero experience of on line only banking I am apprehensive of putting £20k of my hard earned money into one. Stocks and shares isa's don't interest me as I have absolutely no...

I've always banked with High Street banks, it's what I'm used to. My current ISA term has expired with Natwest, I have a savings account with HSBC which has an appalling interest rate, what i want to do is transfer that to the ISA and a sum out of my business account to the ISA then transfer...

Do you feel sorry for ripped-off customer?

The elderly part i agree with, the elderly are easily coerced "or atleast some of them" clearly are. I have alot of respect for the elderly, i don't like to hear that they have been ripped off, it pi55es me right off. About 10 years ago I was contacted about a poorly fitted kitchen for an...

    Fix for Swollen Kitchen Worktop

I've probably done up to a 1000 worktop joints in all my years, i don't like the "Butt Joint" on Square edge tops, why? If you heat up the faced edge and peel it off you are left with a load of adhesive on the chipboard, which imo stops the joint being pulled tight together, I tried it once...
