Viessmann Vitodens WB1A Noisy (Video attached!)

Depends on which spirovent, if dirt wouldn't make any differance, if dirt and air doubt youd have this issue, better if it's on the flow as well unlike other filters that go on the return

Not listened to video but sounds like air, get it serviced and point the issue out, all should be simple enough

Am I being ripped off? Powerflush realy necessary?

Call group service (Vaillant) tell them to get back out and show them this thread. As long as you've been truthful I can't see them taking much of a stance to be fair. If they charge you, say to them well if it's a boiler fault I'll charge for my time off work, we can all play the manufacturer...

Am I being ripped off? Powerflush realy necessary?

Think I'd want the facts first mate, slagging off without knowing what happened isn't the way forward, power flushing isn't a must do on an install, as I've said I offer both as I've lost quotes that I used to just inc power flush so I'm now offing it as an extra.

Am I being ripped off? Powerflush realy necessary?

I personally think your system sounds ok, the added leak sealer is most likely the cause and also the engineer not wanting to get his hands dirty. As a few have said its most likely a boiler a fault as it really doesn't sound dirty. As for power flush, in theses times I'm offering choices...

Oil-fired combi boiler - costs and practicalities

Rough rule of thumb, radiator numbers times 1.5 Eg 10 rads x 1.5 = 15 kw total load

    Which oil boiler?

I've seriously given up with firebird, the condense traps are literally lasting 2-3 years before they rust through, pain the bloody ass
  18. Kev F

    Which oil boiler?

Fitted a few firebird, they rot like mad, tech and reps even mention and say they won't last 5 years until the condense rots

Oil-fired combi boiler - costs and practicalities

Grant 36kw will do. They do an outdoor model which is very popular

    Which oil boiler?

Answer to most is no, I'd always replace now, moved a couple last year never again, sourcing old flues etc wasn't worth the hassle
