yeah personaly id go for the 9 inch block work then clad it with celotex then lay ya sandstone block will give you tremendous warmth

long as lead is not split and the is 3 inch cover on tile wont be coming in from there , prehaps stone work has become pourus but i doubt it , is the cowel pots seated and pointed nicely no cracks etc , and have you got a pic ??

think it would also be wise to paint some black jack on wall first will defo help and not hinder the damp

is stone then and not brick? could be coming in on the flashing what material is the flashing

sheets are easier and quicker to lay and cheaper. floorboards though are handy to lift up with any problems imo .

wouldent make a bit of difference with building control imo :D
