    Keeping tilt window open

Got a couple of small pump wedges, one for each window. Seem to solve the problem perfectly! Thanks again, everyone!

    Keeping tilt window open

Oh wow, this does feel like it might work! Will get one and give it a go. Thanks so much @diy_fun_uk!

    Keeping tilt window open

The tilt turn restrictor is interesting @crank39 but unfortunately the bolt isn't shaped like that and there's no space to attach either of these things anywhere

    Engineered oak floor depth

Just realised you mentioned the top might clip off. Tried prising gently with a screwdriver, but maybe I need to apply more force

    Engineered oak floor depth

Thanks for this, @big-all Stupid question alert, but how do I remove the threshold strip?

    Engineered oak floor depth

I have a new build flat with engineered oak floor throughout aside from in the bedroom (carpet) and bathroom (tiles). I want to replace the bedroom carpet with a closely matching engineered oak floor. I tried contacting the developers and architects to get the exact same planks, but couldn't...

    Keeping tilt window open

Amazingly helpful. Thanks so much, Robin. Very kind for a bank robber :) There's nowhere to fix the metal lollipop stick to I don't think. Also the mechanism is very complicated and I feel like that's where the top of the door connects and locks. Based on what I can see IRL, I think the best...

    Keeping tilt window open

Sorry I thought you were suggesting I glue the bolt to the door. I can't screw the bolt to the door either, as it's leasehold. Also the wooden wedge will block the window opening as a door. The photos as are bit misleading as they show the window tilted and make it look like there's more...

    Keeping tilt window open

Just looked at the bolt diagram again. Sorry had skimmed and misinterpreted it. Interesting approach! Although it'll block the window opening in door mode. And don't think the bolt will hold via glue as the suction vacuum is insanely strong!

    Keeping tilt window open

Thanks, @Scally-Ho. Does make sense, although there is already a ventilation system in the building I'd imagine they'd immediately point to (I never turn it on as it seems ineffective and a waste of energy!). Thanks so much for this, @robinbanks - great suggestions! I feel like the ideas at the...

    Keeping tilt window open

Interesting idea. Thanks for this :) Sadly the managing agents are the council. So the chances of them doing anything are probably below zero!

    Keeping tilt window open

I have a floor to ceiling height tilt window that also opens as a door. I'm trying to figure out how I can keep this open as it keeps getting sucked closed by the wind (it overlooks a gap between two buildings). I'm also concerned about not putting stress on the glass and the mechanism...

Fixing balcony trellis panel to metal wall

Yeah no space at all as far as I can see. The metal panels are decorative. I'm out now but will check when I'm back and see if there's any space!

Fixing balcony trellis panel to metal wall

Nice idea, but no space behind the panel unfortunately, I don't think. It doesn't open out so can't get behind it!

Fixing balcony trellis panel to metal wall

Haha. Yeah this does make sense. I'll have a think. I might even return the trellis and get a built-for-purpose trellis planter.

Fixing balcony trellis panel to metal wall

Oooh suction hooks are a good idea! Will experiment. Thank you!

Fixing balcony trellis panel to metal wall

Unfortunately not. Seems like the only way is either fix them to the planter or get a built-for-purpose trellis planter. They just don't tend to make them in the right sizes.

Fixing balcony trellis panel to metal wall

It's definitely not a door. And it backs onto the bedroom, so there's no risk in that respect. I can't use any adhesive as I can't do anything destructive.
