Fixing balcony trellis panel to metal wall

That was my first thought too but unfortunately it's not magnetic metal! Sorry should have specified. Part of me is thinking to maybe screw them to the back of the planters as I'm thinking to get tall ones...

Fixing balcony trellis panel to metal wall

Hey @jj4091. They're metal panels not doors. The balcony has wooden decking too, so I think they're metal for decorative reasons. Yeah I'm not sure about how yellow the trellis looks, was hoping that would fade over time and the planters would cover a lot of it. The other option is to get a...

Fixing balcony trellis panel to metal wall

I'm planning to hang a flat trellis panel on each of the metal panels (see photo). The metal panels are in a recess either side where they are flanked by a metal panel on the left and brick on the right, with roughly 2cm gaps between the panels either side. I'm planing to hang them about 10cm...

    Modifying farmhouse table

Makes sense! Wondering if I braced the weight horizontally along the underside of the table and then pushing into the two trestles at the top support them... Exactly where they're currently supported by the diagonal pieces... if that could maybe work?

    Modifying farmhouse table

Thanks, @foxhole ... Interesting thoughts on adding a supporting batten if required. Extra context: the table top is a very thick oak veneer, so it's quite heavy (whole table is 40kg, I'd estimate the top planks are about 20kg). They're also split into two planks. Secured to the trestles by 4...

    Modifying farmhouse table

I recently purchased the IKEA Mockelby in the smaller size (140 x 80cm). https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/moeckelby-table-oak-50401335/ I'm not sure I like the V-shaped diagonal pieces that connect to the horizontal piece, which in turn connects the two trestles (see red lines in image)...

    Bath shower screen sealing

Ah ok interesting. Thanks! Why is this out of curiosity?

    Bath shower screen sealing

    1. Do I need to seal the inside of a bath shower screen where the chrome plated plastic mount meets the wall on the inside i.e. vertically down the side here? 2. And should I do it on the opposite side too i.e. the outside of where the mount meets the tiles? Note: It feels like there is a kind...

Advice: Hired painter decorator, cracks in walls and ceilings

Great, thanks Opps. Would that just be for the one big ceiling cracks or all 5 cracks? (1 big ceiling, 2 small ceiling ones, and 2 small wall ones) The painter has since said I should get in touch with the managing agents as it's due to the plasterboard expanding. But I think this is part of...

Advice: Hired painter decorator, cracks in walls and ceilings

Additional context: I paid 800 for the work (1 bed 55sqm flat), 190 for materials, and 100 for a few handyman repairs. Couple of other questions: 1. How long do you think it would it take to scrape, tape, and mesh the cracks described in the original post? 2. Would you include this in the...

    Re-drilling holes for curtain brackets

@Wayners: Great tip on the wood... Also presumably doing this will be easier as I can use larger screws and plugs to really secure it to whatever is behind the plasterboard and cavity? Also I'm guessing I should use 4 screws for the wood (one in each corner)? Also already have plugs and long...

Advice: Hired painter decorator, cracks in walls and ceilings

Thanks for this @Wayners, I'll put this to him. @opps Sadly doesn't surprise me. Million dollar question... where's the best place to find a knowledgeable and reliable painter/decorator handyman who I can trust?

    Re-drilling holes for curtain brackets

Makes sense. I think I have the right model in mind. Just need to find some thinner 7cm screws than the others I have to fit the fitting. Thank you so much for your help on this, @JohnD !
