    A Nice Looking Plug

Protip: Order n+1 decorative sockets. When one goes up in smoke because they look nice but they are usually chinese junk, you find yourself scouring the web for a spare!

Why bother with nice plugs when you have filthy sockets? Lipstick on a pig.

    Corner radiator valves fitting

Rad valves last a very long time. Trv Heads, er, not so much in my experience. The more bijoux the device, the harder parts are to find for it. I imagine you'll have to chuck the whole thing away once it fails (5-10 years)? Just check that the sizing is common so that you can replace. I like...

Buying home with garage with no building regs

Why can't you use it as you want? You can sleep in the shed if you want. You buy it as a garage. You sell it as a garage. Don't see the issue unless you want to make it a genuine extension at which point your two issues will be solved.

Not all radiators working. Running out of ideas

There are some great online articles about modern heating systems and existing properties. The upshot is that modern systems require modern buildings or significant financial outlays. My 20 year old house is probably not up to scratch for modern Hps etc. so I'm hanging onto my gas heating until...

Not all radiators working. Running out of ideas

This is where a full schematic will come in very handy. Provides instruction and clarity as to what is needed and will be a great scope document for the works to follow. Plumbers need every bit of instruction and drawings they can get....

    Balancing question

The trv is a dynamic proportion throttling valve. The lockshield is a static, proportion throttling valve. The lockshield puts one foot on the throat of the radiator. The TRV puts the other on. So you've hobbled the system and now it's only doing what you told it to do and that is move slowly...

Not all radiators working. Running out of ideas

New-Modern. That means zero zone and full App control to me. Also, probably involves a full HVAC approach with heating being just one aspect. Heat recovery ventilation would be another. Insulation, and so on. The modern approach is to not require heating normally and only have it, when you...

Not all radiators working. Running out of ideas

Do it properly. Which may not mean doing it at all.... Go back to square one. If you are future proofing then perhaps heat pump/solar may be worthwhile in the medium -long term maybe not. Time to do a rethink. No good chucking good money after bad

Wireless Thermostatic Radiator Valves and wireless thermostats

I think you will be whistling in the wind to be able to have fully controlled system without wifi/internet unless you go industrial and/or mad with rf units.

Nice deflection. I'm bumping my gums because the op deserves better. You seem to not see the problem. Opposite sides of the same curtain.
