Main thing is work safe you are given all the tools and training to do so. Tell the customer what you have done and what you are going to do, leave and explain paperwork it avoids confusion like the threads on here where people think they have been told they have to have a new boiler...

I would say it definatly needs a engineer to look at it as there is a number of tests required to diagnose this boiler, is this on C/H or hot water that this is happening? From what you are saying seems it does modulate eventually just way out of its normal limits I would be suspecting temp...

I belive this model has a non return valve in the outlet of the secondary heat exhchanger, this or the actual heat exchanger could be blocked.

I would ask them to check operation of the hot water diaphagm and if operation is ok then would check the venturi in water section. Also the non return valve in the flow connection are prone to blocking. Dave
