Your meant to follow the thread. Eg looking at it end on your would apply it clockwise. Doing it your way, it will loosen off and scrunch down as you are tightening the fitting, thus making it leak.

What supply does your house have? TNS/TT/TNCS? What cable have you run? Have you read Part P? You will need to install another CCU in your shed and run everything from that. How far from the house is the shed?
