    Mira Sport Max Shower Problem

Hi all, I'm just about to finish a bathroom project which involved a full new suite, tiling of the whole room and it's looking pretty good. Today's job was refitting the shower, which broke before the project started (it was actually the motivation for starting the project!). It is a Mira...

    Mira Sport Shower Problem

Pete - do you mean the one in the black plastic bit where the shower unit connects to the mains water supply?

    Mira Sport Shower Problem

Thanks for the tip. I will have a look at it next time I go to see the shower and I will take a picture of it too.

    Mira Sport Shower Problem

Hi all - I am looking for some advice for a friend's shower. She has a Mira Sport shower (don't know what the kW is) and the other week she had a problem where it suddenly started to only produce very hot water (regardless of where the temperature knob was set). The only way she could get a...

    Fitting a room thermostat

Chris Thanks. I was stupidly thinking that the thermostat would be wired into the control unit in the hall cupboard, but it will actually need to be wired to the combi boiler which is in the kitchen. On that bases, a wireless unit seems more sensible, but I would still run a hard wire under...

    Fitting a room thermostat

Hi all Recently moved into a new flat that has a Combi Boiler in the kitchen (didn't note the model number), a hot water tank in the hall cupboard and a Drayton Tempus Seven control unit for the central heating and hot water. However, there is no room thermostat anywhere in the flat...

    WDR 1020

Hi there Been a while since i've been on here! And happy to say that all this time later the machine is still working perfectly and running silently. Afraid i don't know terribly much about the machine other than the bits that i fixed. From memory the dial that picks the programme has a...

    Replacing Bearings... (Tricity Bendix WDR1020)

No idea. As you might have gathered from the rest of this thread, I am no expert in repairing washing machnies. I simply came here for some advice on how to progress my repair which I helpfully received. The shaft may well be damaged, but to my eye I cannot see anything obviously wrong with...

    Replacing Bearings... (Tricity Bendix WDR1020)

New tub seal it is then. Where can I get one? Interestingly, it's in exceptionally good condition. Not twisted or perished anywhere and still filling the whole gap of the tub rim. But I agree, that the cost of a new seal is better than ruining everything when it fails. The shaft isn't...

    Replacing Bearings... (Tricity Bendix WDR1020)

No need for a new spider, managed to get the old bearings off ( heated with a hairdrier and they eventually came off)! :D Do I definitely need a new tub seal. Old one still looks fine and intact, no cracking and still well seated in the outer edge of the tub??

    Replacing Bearings... (Tricity Bendix WDR1020)

More like flogging a dead washing machine! :) I'm really just looking for a quick and cheapish fix to the problem as we are likely to be moving out of the house in the next 6-12 months and don't plan to take the machine with us (planning to buy a new property with fitted appliances). So...

    Replacing Bearings... (Tricity Bendix WDR1020)

The quest continues! :) Got the inner drum out last night and hammered out the rear bearing from the inside. Inner bearing had collapsed and there were balls everywhere!! :P Got the outer case of the inner bearing out with some strategic chisel work. But, the inner race of the bearing...

    Replacing Bearings... (Tricity Bendix WDR1020)

Thanks! The shaft isn't siezed onto the outer bearing, as it has started to move by about half a centimetre after my original hammering attempts, but I obviously won't know about the inner bearings until i get the shaft out. Will there be a spider attached to the inner drum when I get it...

    Replacing Bearings... (Tricity Bendix WDR1020)

Right. Now at the stage where I need to remove the bearings!! I can obviously see the outer bearings, but not sure which way they come out. Should they come out the rear of the plastic drum, or go through and out the same side as the inner drum? What should I be hammering, the outer bearing...

    Replacing Bearings... (Tricity Bendix WDR1020)

You never know, it might just fall out...... All been pretty plain sailing so far, things can only get more difficult! And the wife is being particularly tollerant of the kitchen being overrun with washing machine parts!! :D

    Replacing Bearings... (Tricity Bendix WDR1020)

Hi Sleepyhead Thanks for the reply. I had managed to get the rear half of the case off without too many problems last night. Drum is now out of the machine and the belt wheel is off the back of the drum. What's the next thing on the list in the quest to get to the bearings? Do i just undo...

    Replacing Bearings... (Tricity Bendix WDR1020)

Hi there, I've had a look around and I'm very impressed with the level of detail on this forum, but cannot find the answer to my problem. I'm in the process of trying to replace the drumbearings on my Tricity Bendix WDR1020 washer drier. Having spoken to an ex-machine engineer, he gave me...
