Yip, pipe just hooks over top of stand pipe, it's as if water comes in then stops then the pump pumps then stops then water then pump and so on and so on but very fast on off on off. :?

Replaced the cold inlet valve and this has quitened down the banging but now as quick as the water is filling the pump is emptying.

Got an hoover softwave 1000 washing machine that makes loud knocking noise when filling with water,it's so bad that the water pipes move. Any info helpful. thanks
