Suspected leaking radiator - Ford Fiesta 2001

Have taken it into a different garage today and they have said that it's the thermostat which is leaking so will have to wait and see if replacing this does the trick. At least I know a bit more about what's what under the bonnet now, thanks for your help guys.

Suspected leaking radiator - Ford Fiesta 2001

Funny you should say that as a friend of mine looked at the car today and he said that he's pretty certain that it's the water pump, so hopefully that won't be too expensive to replace. In terms of the garage pressure testing the radiator that's basically what they told me so I don't know...

Suspected leaking radiator - Ford Fiesta 2001

OK, the new expansion tank cap has arrived so I'm going to give this a try. Not too confident that this will do the trick but worth a try anyway I think for a few quid. I'm still trying to find out where the leak is coming and from the wet patch on the floor it seems to be to the left of the...

Suspected leaking radiator - Ford Fiesta 2001

Thanks for that, I wasn't sure what mix to do it but your 50/50 sounds good aswell with the de-ionised water.

Suspected leaking radiator - Ford Fiesta 2001

I've been filling the expansion tank with ready mixed antifreeze but now my local halfords seems to have stopped selling this so I just wanted to check what water I should use when mixing the concentrate. Can I use tap water or should I use de-ionised water instead?

Suspected leaking radiator - Ford Fiesta 2001

It's all pointing towards the head gasket! :(

Suspected leaking radiator - Ford Fiesta 2001

I've found the drainage screw that you undo with a 1p coin, thanks guys. Looks OK to me and I don't think it is leaking from here so I have ordered a new expansion tank cap as it's worth replacing that as a process or elimination. The radiator doesn't leak at a continual amount. Some days...

Suspected leaking radiator - Ford Fiesta 2001

No, I'm not overfilling the reservoir and have checked the rubber hose and clips and they appear to be fine. The leak definitely drips on the ground from underneath the radiator although I need to try the baby powder thing to see exactly where it's coming from as I haven't been able to...

Suspected leaking radiator - Ford Fiesta 2001

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of. The garage that I take the car to has got a good reputation and I think they've carried out the pressure testing correctly so that would mean that I'd still have this problem even with a new radiator though! Bit of a mystery this one and I really want to get...

Suspected leaking radiator - Ford Fiesta 2001

Where can I get a new screw on radiator cap from? Is this the type of thing I can pick up from halfords or would I need to pay an extortionate fee from a ford dealer? I suppose I could get one from a scrap yard but that might be in the same condition so new is probably best for this.

Suspected leaking radiator - Ford Fiesta 2001

I've been having a look for this radiator cap and I am non the wiser :( . I've even studied the Haynes manual and can't find it in there. I'm assuming that this is actually on the radiator and not the expansion tank cap? If so then can you tell me where exactly it is.

Suspected leaking radiator - Ford Fiesta 2001

Could be the header tank cap, I'll have a look at that and see if I can see where it appears to be leaking from. I might try and post a few photos which should help.

Suspected leaking radiator - Ford Fiesta 2001

The anti-freeze level keeps going down and I am putting about half a litre of ready mixed anti-freeze every week or so. When the car is parked I have noticed a wet patch on the ground underneath the radiator (which is definitely anti-freeze) but the garage has pressure tested the radiator and...

Ford Fiesta blowing out hot air

I took it to the garage and they replaced a valve. I think the heating valve was stuck to full heat all the time. Anyway, only a cheap repair and it's all working fine now. :)

Ford Fiesta blowing out hot air

Still got this problem and I've booked the car to go in the garage for this Thursday but does anyone have any ideas about what could be wrong? Thermostat? Radiator?

Ford Fiesta blowing out hot air

I'm having problems with my 2001 Ford Fiesta. It's fine until I go on the motorway and start doing over 70mph, then it starts blowing out loads of hot air through the air vents even when they are closed and the control is set to cool. I'd appreciate it if someone could point me in the right...
