    Lithium battery in DVR?

Wow! Now I'm confused! The cctv was not as described - a con. Paypal agree and say to send it back to China and they'll give me a refund. However, it costs £93 to send it! Paypal say if the Post Office refuse to send it, I need a note from them, then I don't have to return it, and I get my...

    Lithium battery in DVR?

Hi. I bought a cheap? (£120) CCTV on Ebay. Guy said it was HD and excellent night vision. It's not. Paypal agree and told me to send it back for a refund. I've boxed it up very well and smothered it in tape. It's off to China. Trouble is, Post Office want to know if there's a Lithium battery...

    Painting over 'Diamond Hard' varnish.

They look OK but would they impede his painting technique? Sanding would be a nightmare for him. Plus, I give them 2 minutes and they'll be digested and left in brown/black piles in the garden. With glittery bits so the wife can find them in the dark. Worth thinking about though. Thanks. John.

    Painting over 'Diamond Hard' varnish.

Hello to all. Built a pine kitchen 5 years ago. Wife now wants it painting. I did the doors with the Ronseal Diamond hard varnish. The dog loved stretching and scratching his claws all the way down, hence the Diamond varnish. Have to say, there's not a mark on them. Same with room...

    Resubmission with supporting evidence advice

Thanks for the sarcasm lads. Most appreciated. I'll look elsewhere for adult replies. No wonder you have such a high response rate between you. Definitely not a brain cell count. Been on here for years. Never met such arseholes on any of the other forums. Most helpful. Kind regards.

    Resubmission with supporting evidence advice

Hello. Thanks for that. But, my agent was the one who told me I could do this. He's the architect and very experienced with the local council. I'm now very confused. regards. John.

    Resubmission with supporting evidence advice

Thanks for the replies. They said it would impact on the street scene and the listed building next door across the drive. My house is an end stone cottage, about 135 years old, but originally was one long house. It had a full length single storey shop extension at the front, about 10 feet in...

    Resubmission with supporting evidence advice

Hello. I won't bore you with too many details. I hope. Permission was refused because it's a conservation area. I read the appeal process and wrongly thought because of the conservation area bit I had 6 months to appeal. Turned out it's 12 weeks and I've taken 15. So, my architect says I can...

    Hedging in troughs

Thank you to you both. I looked on the sites ladylola suggested and found the Goldcrest that Susiejb suggested. That looks like the hedge for me! Lovely colour, grows fast, lemon smell and suited to coastal gardens, which is where I am. You two make a great team! Thanks again. John

    Hedging in troughs

Thanks for replying. The troughs would be raised beds. I was thinking about 18 inches wide and 18 inches deep? I know the roots need to grow and spread, but aren't sure how much 'trough' they'd need. The 6 foot includes the 18 inch trough height, so the hedge would be 4 feet 6 max. Would...

    Hedging in troughs

Hello to all. I've had to deck my garden due to our dog killing every blade of grass on the original lawn. I'd like to grow some kind of hedging in long wooden troughs around the edges. Is this feasible? If so, what depth/width would you recommend for the troughs? Also, what type of hedging...

What's alternative to home cinema box for audio?

Thanks for your replies. In light of the last comment, I've decided to keep the home cinema combo purely for the amplifier part. Here's my brainwave - I don't need to play dvd's, so no bits moving about inside, so I can stand it upright flat against the wall! Making sure the vents are clear...

AVI film jerky when played through usb on home cinema

Hello. I used to, but they didn't seem to stand many erases before I had problems with playback. Also, as I said earlier, my dvd player in the home cinema packed up, so the avi player I got was a cheap, small, excellent alternative. John

What's alternative to home cinema box for audio?

Thanks. But, the amplifier is the bit I don't know anything about. Where do I start looking, and what am I looking for? I know it's an amplifier, but if I put that in my search engine it comes up with millions of hits. Most meaning nothing to me. Is it just called an amplifier? I honestly...

What's alternative to home cinema box for audio?

Hello. Thanks for the reply. If it works, cos I don't know how to do links, the following is the item I have, as recommended in another topic about jerky avi files. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Xenta-Upscaling-Media-Player-Decoder/dp/B0043WBU9G/?tag=gbnetser-21 A pc sounds a bit over the top...

What's alternative to home cinema box for audio?

Hi! I want to do away with my big, bulky home cinema player. I don't need to play dvd's anymore. The new unit I have has the red/white audio leads coming out, and plays video with a usb stick input. I have 5 speakers, plus the bass. I'm not a purist with regards to sound quality, so I'm...

AVI film jerky when played through usb on home cinema

Been a while, I know, but been researching your suggestion about the box in your Amazon link. I've bought 3!! And, they're so small, it's unbeievable. Couple of inches or so square, that's all. Got one, and was really impressed, so I got another for in the other room. I then got one for my...
