I see! I really appreciate your help, I think I'm almost there. Just need to sort the other edge out. Is what I've drawn here correct or would you cut the bottom block down?
Hi, thanks very much for the info. Is it something like this you were meaning? It makes sense to me now, by cutting the pieces it gets it to half bond.
Is that what you meant?
Cheers
Ed
But I will still be left with an awkward length wont I? the blocks are 440mm long and 140mm wide. Will I not have to cut a smaller block to make it into half bond?
Cheers,
Ed
Hi everyone. In the end I hired an automatic rotating laser level and it was fantastic. It was the Leica 620 and cost £35 per week which I thought was very good.
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to build a retaining wall for our garden. We have a slope (back to front) of 447mm and I was planning on using hollow concrete blocks (440mm x 215mm x 140mm) so I can use rebar to tie them into the concrete foundation. I'm a wall virgin but I'm keen!
My first question...
Also, I see there are 360 degree lasers and also ones which say rotary lasers. What’s the difference? Presumably I can use a 360 degree laser with detector and measuring staff?
Thanks everyone.
I was looking at this item but can’t find anywhere that has it in stock.

Hi,
I'm looking to start building a wall and want to buy a laser level so that I can set everything out and get the correct levels for footings and layers etc by transferring levels etc. I'm only a DIY'er so don't want to spend a fortune, I'm looking at max £200
There looks to be lots of...
