    Disconnecting ancient bell box safely

Thanks for the replies. Could I possibly not disconnect power at the control panel and still do the job.. With it being 12v and not mains powered is it safe to just cut off the wires that are going to the box without any risk of shock?

External hole for extractor fan and materials

How do you create a bend with the plastic ducting? The extractor fan will come up into the celing and plastic ducting connected to create the rise, but then need to go 90deg left towards the gable end. Are there adapter/elbow pieces available to create the turns? Also, can the joins just be...

Thanks John, thats got me thinking. Raising the floor level - did you build a long hump kind of shape across the length of the garage door? Im thinking if I built a hump about 100 mm thick and 50mm tall that might work, possibly supported with some lengths of timber until the concrete dries...

External hole for extractor fan and materials

Thanks EFL, that's brilliant, really appreciate you taking the time to do that, makes is much clearer. In regards to the cowl or flappy vent, can the cowl be fitted over the flappy vent, or it is better to to just have the hole and then the cowl over the hole (no flappy vent) Thanks

External hole for extractor fan and materials

thanks for all the replies, really helpful. i hope this image is the correct way of doing it: so the ducting/solid pipe has to rise above the vent hole and then fall back down? I drew this into the image. Hence its best to try and keep the vent hole as low as possible so that the ducting can...

Affordable new door & side panel for unusual size opening

Sounds like an interesting plan. I would just get rid of the second wooden doors and made good. Do you think the cost of a wooden door /side panel would be cheaper than composite? Also, are wooden doors easily available from window /door companies. I have never really looked into it. Thanks
