hi all, back for more advise always get great advice on here, i am laying a patio i have edging stones all around it, would it be ok to just use sand as a base, the way they do with block pavers thanks Bill i should add that the it was a patio before and ive just removed the old slabs...

what i dont understand is why do they seal the windows in the first palce if there is no need to, maybe its a con to get people to replace the unit when it mists if it isnt sealed then it wouldnt mist up, is it just a good way to get people to buy replacement units

to be fair it is a solution though isnt it, although i would have thought they are sealed for a reason

just another question why grit sand is there any reason to use this other than building sand, also not sure if this is relevant but i am laying the slabs with a wet mix not a dry bed does this amke a difference thanks appreciate your help

[/url] thanks for the reply, thats where i looked originally and it seems to say that you can use a 10-1 mix, 6-1 mix and a 3-1 thats why i was confused,

i am replacing my patio and i have taken up the old slabs, the ground under them is quite firm and i will be ok to lay new slabs there but the ground over the whole area although firm is not level it undulates....only slightly but it does, firstly do you think its necessary for it to be level...

would it be a good idea to jetwash the old slabs first ?

sorry i should have explained there is no dpc, i am laying this next to a static caravan. can you explain how i make sure that the slabs run parallel to the caravan, as there isnt a wall to run along, i dont want to get half way across with the slabs and find that i am at an angle to the van, it...

hi guys i have an existing patio consisting of 2x2 slabs and would like to cheeer it up a bit and put down some different slabs, am i right in assuming that it will be ok to lay straight onto the existing ones?, they are very solid and show no signs of movement at all. thanks Bill

the satellite is the astra i think its 28.2e and , as i said before i have a signal strength of 70% .....if this doesnt mean i am pointing at the satellite then what does it mean? i do not have a meter, but i have tuned this in before a few times without one just seem to be having problems this...

got 75% strength but nothing on quality i have checked the coax connections and even changed the scart cable but still nothing. i am assuming that i have the sat pointing correctly as the strength is quite good cant understand what the prob is thanks Bill
