    Garage floor painting/sealing/levelling

Just had a quick Google, presumably that would be instead of the concrete sealer? Is it a better option than the concrete sealer?

    Garage floor painting/sealing/levelling

Hi all, I'm looking to reduce the dust in my integral garage which is a concrete floor. Part of the garage is an extension, you can see the differential line in the picture. The floor is sloped to a drain outside the door, presumably to allow for run off of any vehicle? We won't be using the...

External light wiring (old pond electrics)

I will finally have some time to do this at weekend. The external electric is actually a 3 pin plug, plugged in to a double socket in the conservatory. This is then terminated in to a very poorly installed junction box which turned in to a slug house so that will be going! My plan is to take...

    Wallpapering a table

Possibly something like this https://www.manomano.co.uk/catalogue/p/table-protector-transparent-60-cm-2-mm-pvc-22667934?model_id=22658187 Or a film like this? https://artlife-decor.com/products/self-adhesive-foil-for-furniture-transparent-foil

    Wallpapering a table

No need to apologise they're all valid points that I'd not thought about really. It's not my coffee shop but I can pass on the advice and see if they want to rethink the options. I suppose a bit of sanitary sealant around the edge of the perspex could help with the hygiene aspect but not the...

    Wallpapering a table

Under side of table is bare wood that I've sanded back already. Could flip it over if they're happy with the red underneath or I could paint it black with plastic paint... I was worried about the scratch resistance of the perspex too but the cost of the non scratch stuff wad coming out at £140...

    Wallpapering a table

Hi all, I've agreed to take on a project for a friend opening a cafe and I'm going to be putting some wallpaper on circular tables with some custom perspex on top. I'll be "sticking" 2 pieces of wallpaper on the table with a joint in the middle and then trimming carefully with a knife...

Boiler Saga Continues - Probable Leak...(Update 24/12/20 - Trace and Access visit)

Yep! They're going to investigate it. Whatever that means we'll see but I'll go as far as I can for a refund

Boiler Saga Continues - Probable Leak...(Update 24/12/20 - Trace and Access visit)

Yes. They used it and didn't detect any anomaly. I'm going to pursue a complaint and refund but at least it's sorted.

Boiler Saga Continues - Probable Leak...(Update 24/12/20 - Trace and Access visit)

That's the subfloor not the laminate. We'd already taken a layer of laminate off. The floor is made up of tile, 18mm wooden sub floor and then laminate.

Boiler Saga Continues - Probable Leak...(Update 24/12/20 - Trace and Access visit)

Trouble is, there were no signs until they heard it. I am surprised at the leak detection company though

Boiler Saga Continues - Probable Leak...(Update 24/12/20 - Trace and Access visit)

Me too, and the number of professionals that have inspected the same area. There were no obvious signs of a leak until they started opening up, then the musty smell hit

Boiler Saga Continues - Probable Leak...(Update 24/12/20 - Trace and Access visit)

Morning all. The issue has now been sorted. I managed to take a large section of laminate up in the family room, tape down any edges ready for inspection holes to be cut. After a few hours of no luck finding anything yesterday the plumbers installed some more gateway valves on the pipes to...

Wires in cavity - cavity wall insulation

The company got back to me and they also have Provincial Seals CWI18 (http://www.bbacerts.co.uk/publications/guidance/qr-codes/provincial-seals-ltd/?doc=%2F1ArZ8k7LdUXrKX4FeBEWOU8pC4mAzbOPiM%3D) This is a "granulated glass mineral wool fibre material" apparently. This reacts less to the wires...

Boiler Saga Continues - Probable Leak...(Update 24/12/20 - Trace and Access visit)

This was always my impression as well. Which makes the fact that no gas escaped during the test even more baffling.

Boiler Saga Continues - Probable Leak...(Update 24/12/20 - Trace and Access visit)

Hi, I'll get that done tomorrow but it's pretty much what I did today. Topped up the boiler to 1.5, turned off at switch and then went back to check the water in the measuring jug. The pressure was at 0. No radiators were bled, literally just turned the boiler off at the switch. It was round 90...

Boiler Saga Continues - Probable Leak...(Update 24/12/20 - Trace and Access visit)

Managed to turn the boiler off for an hour today. Boiler lost pressure. Absolutely zero water expelled from the pipe. Floor up re-pipe job is the way forward

Thanks for that, I'll have to do it tomorrow now.
