    If joints are showing ,then another 'easyfill' skim or lining paper Never ever lining paper for new plaster boards. There is nothing better than brand new plasterboards. Surface is perfectly smooth if joints are no so smooth than just easyfill and sand.

    Mine advice, you can add to the mist coat a bit of top coat paint to change the colour of fresh plaster. Sometimes 2 coats in total are enough.

    if the wallpaper is no so thick rather thin should I use lining? The point is to get good finish. Let say walls are good but new wallpaper is thin than is better to use if is thick it might be just wallpaper. But if the walls are in bad condition rough and uneven surface is better to use lining?

    Painting banisters - advice needed

    I would buy oak spindles and oak handrail cos white looks awfull, and another advice about woodwork in home remove that horrible white skirtings rather simple boards and get hard wood as oak and use varnish. Would be 10 times better and nicer.

    I would use contract matt but definately not cheap paint cos the base paint can't be weak, and the cheap paints are not so good.

    Good tape is blue masking tape is weeker than the others but good for that what you need.

    Hi, I cant agree with robie. Is not difficult at all to cover wood with varnish. Just 2 coats of undercoat and gloss or any other suitable paint.

    hi. What is the best filler to use on uneven surfaces. Needs to be easy to sanding let say from 0mm up to 3 mm.
