    Hotpoint Aquarius WD61 bearings?

Hi - don't blame Hotpoint, their site doesn't call them spiders but drum supports and they cost more than the other sites so I didn't recognise them as such also they don't specify whether it includes bearings and or fixings. Thanks to people like you people like me can get the confidence have...

    Hotpoint Aquarius WD61 bearings?

Hotpoint doesn't have the spider unfortunately, but espares does and they don't have the air duct bits so 2 lots of PandP! I'll let you know if I get it all working again.

    Hotpoint Aquarius WD61 bearings?

Hello again, the pulley is off and the spider was definitely the problem - two of the legs were broken. The part I think is an air duct is the grey plastic thing in the picture. The companies that sell parts don't have enough pictures so I can't work out what to order. Any idea of the name...

    Hotpoint Aquarius WD61 bearings?

Hello again, yes, when I got the front off I could feel the inner drum was looser in two places than the third. Have, after raiding two neighbours toolkits, managed to get the nut off the back off the drum, but the pulley has stayed firm - is it screwed on as well or can I just thwack the...

    Hotpoint Aquarius WD61 bearings?

Re the play on the inner tub - not that I can tell. Have tried a quick wash with a load, there was more clunking on the spin - a regular clunk which sped up as the speed increased and became so bad I switched it all off. This didn't happen on the empty spin.

    Hotpoint Aquarius WD61 bearings?

Since I last replied I noticed that one of the feet in the amchine had no contact with the floor, so I adjusted that and have run a spin with no washing in and the vibration is much reduced. I'll try again with a wash in to see what the situation could be then. Could it have been just the fact...

    Hotpoint Aquarius WD61 bearings?

The inner tub seems to bounce about fairly freely on the springy supports - is that what you mean?

    Hotpoint Aquarius WD61 bearings?

Hi thanks for answering. I had taken the back and the top off - nothing is visibly dislodged.

    Hotpoint Aquarius WD61 bearings?

My Hotpoint Aquarius WD61 has always been noisy when spinning, but it surpassed itself yesterday with a crash that sounded as though a car had crashed into the front of my house. Now I can hear what sounds like a loose heavy part clunking when the spin gets to its fastest and when I stopped it...

    Hotpoint Aquarius 1100 WD 61

Hi Leccy, just to update you - a local repair shop took a mains suppressor of a dead machine out the back for me, it's now connected and the machine is busy working it's way throught the mound of dirties. So for just a few pounds and your help we are back to normal. Many thanks!

    Hotpoint Aquarius 1100 WD 61

Hello again, I've had problems locating the correct mains suppressor for the machine as Hotpoint are out of stock at the moment. Another supplier has offered me a universal 6 microfarad capacitor for the time being. Would this work? It looks as though the pairs of connectors are just sitting...

    Hotpoint Aquarius 1100 WD 61

Have just tried, with the help of my less electricity phobic partner to circumvent the capacitor to test the machine and yes! it works. A very handy hint and many, many thanks for your advice.

    Hotpoint Aquarius 1100 WD 61

What a quick reply, you're obviously not out Trick or Treating! That's very useful, I'll give it a go, and thanks for the possible suppliers.

    Hotpoint Aquarius 1100 WD 61

Thanks Leccy, I've taken the back off the machine and can see the unit you mention has exploded its innards out. You call the part a capacitor, but I'm finding it difficult to source a new one. Is it the same thing as a mains suppressor? It looks similar. Another site has a Capacitor F/motor...

    Hotpoint Aquarius 1100 WD 61

Help! I've just started using my father's old WD61 - it seemed OK but there has just been a load bang and smoke from it at the end of a drying cycle, (a double sheet and a couple of pillow cases). I've taken off the top and the wires all look OK, but the motor is very hot still and I think...
