Worcester Bosch 28i Junior losing pressure

screw slot = ball-o-fix style valve, 90 deg turn and it is off. when heated the pressure in the system goes up - if there is a leak/cross over issue, then it is likely that increased pressure could reveal it. what is you mains pressure usually like? when you top off via the filling loop is...

Worcester Bosch 28i Junior losing pressure

i'm sure there's a valve built into the mains in - the last pipe on the right is the heating return, then the one to it's left is the mains. you might need a small adjustable if it's a square nut jobbie. can't picture it, but it must have one.

Water pouring out of inside mains stopcock !

if it's a copper riser, then by 1974 it should be metric 22mm, unless someone managed to find a bit of old 3/4" does your stopcock have markings to indicate size? it will be a new 22mm stopcock reduced to 15mm after the stopcock, a reducer soldered onto the 22mm going into a 15mm stopcock...

Worcester Bosch 28i Junior losing pressure

there is a 15mm copper pipe going into the boiler with a tap on it - turn that off and you have isolated teh mains from the boiler. the you can make sure there are no dripping hot taps in the house and leave them all closed. if you have no pressure drop after 2 hours, then it's fairly...

.."By Appointment to her Majesty the Queen"

i thought it meant that the manufacturer has supplied products to the queen or her estate - and she then grants approval for the supplier to say so. doesn't mean they're any good or even good value.

Do i need acroprops to install a lintel

it may not be much above it, but if it moves it will be a lot of ag to sort out, and you are asking it to sit patiently while you install the lintel and wait for the mortar to go off. i'd go for an acrow or two with strongboys, or at least prop the joists via a short piece of 6x2 either side...

Worcester Bosch 28i Junior losing pressure

yeah, does a bit. for the purpose of seeing if the central heating water HE is leaking over to the DHW, all you can do is isolate the 15mm cold mains in and the 15mm DHW pipe as it leaves the boiler at the first available. that will contain any leak between inlet and outlet. i'm sure the...

Worcester Bosch 28i Junior losing pressure

copper expands when heated, it also moves. my money is on a leak under the floor. if you can get your head under the floor, you will likely be able to hear that sort of water leak dripping when you are in the general area. i'd check around the upstands to the rads first and progress...

Worcester Bosch 28i Junior losing pressure

you've covered all the bases, so you need to go back and find the leak in the pipework, you say every time it goes off, how long is this spell and how quickly does it drop? do you have pipework under a suspended floor where water could drain away unnoticed for instance? as you're well...

just a thought as i don't do oil, but has it been serviced? i only mention it as they do need an annual service to keep them running cleanly and maybe you could roll the restart and service into one?

    central heating

    1. someones turned the lockshield down 2. it's collected a lot of air and needs a big bleed 3. the plunger on the trv angle valve is stuck down and is therefore locked shut regardless of whether the head is working ok eliminate those 3 and come back with a full description of your system...

    Replacement combi...

overinflated market? good for you, sadly the market this side of the river is over populated, not over inflated. you can't swing a cat round here without hitting a gas fitter, the price seems fine to me, the quote should list what is being done as has been said by do it all, but depending...

    main water stop cock

i'd go for a clean out of the external stoppy, but have you tried nipping up the hex nut at the base of the stem of your internal stopcock? that might be enough to squeeze off your leak.

    Another Cordless Drill thread

be patient and someone will do a deal on the makita at some point. i bought a pair of them and paid i think £70 each with a discount voucher on top of a promo price. i would rule out hitachi - had them and not as good as makita by a long way, an 18v dewalt i use quite often seems ok but is a...

    Insulating outside copper pipes

can you run the pipework indoors, the come out of the wall direct to a plate with the tap screwed into the plate? i think toolstation do a plate pre brazed/soldered to a foot of 15mm. only the minimum of exposed metal outside that way.

Plea for help with main water supply problem

apparently his plumber took the head off the internal stopcock. have you tracked back along the pipework to look for an older abandoned stopcock? funny it should be dry when he took the head off.
