How much window reveal can be insulated?

Agreed, I took the high spots off mine with a cup grinder and dust extraction. I wouldn't want to lose the frame in the wall, odd!

How much window reveal can be insulated?

Plasterboard adhesive foam seems to have some insulation properties. I've done some reveals like this and they felt warm to the touch over the last winter. I'd try and keep away from the bead, at least use 9.5mm board and some thinner insulation.

Protecting floor joists and using the first floor during the build

They put down sheets of old ply here on the joists to work on. You might just trap the water in if you lay plastic over it and it gets under.

New roof just done (is this a bodged job?)

To me, that's still a bodge and I wouldn't accept that on my house, ever. Can't quite tell, but in the 2nd photo, looks like a trough behind the chimney and ridge?

New roof just done (is this a bodged job?)

It's a bodge. I suspect the "roofers" can't do lead work.

Do you need subbase/sub base and sand under a screed kitchen floor?

Neither can I. If a builder doesn't even know how to put a floor down correctly, I wouldn't trust him to do anything else.

    Spraying UPVC windows and doors?

The company is perhaps unlikely to be around in 10 years time anyway :cautious: Can't see painting upvc is going to last very well. Wouldn't bother.

Newly laid patio with Indian sandstone with marks appearing

Agreed, bed looks really poor. Ideally slabs should be slurry primed on the back too. Whats happening about the pointing?

Newly laid patio with Indian sandstone with marks appearing

Be very careful with acidic cleaners, you can cause damage to sandstone. I'd suggest leaving it to weather out as per manufactures guidance. e.g. "Although most commonly associated with concrete paving products, efflorescence can also affect natural stone when it is laid on a full mortar bed...
